Genshin Impact Anime Officially Greenlit

Get ready to experience the wonders of Teyvat in a whole new way! Ufotable has officially revealed its slate of upcoming projects! One such project is an anime adaptation of Hoyoverse’s hit game, Genshin Impact!

Since its release, Genshin Impact has taken the gaming world by storm and has shown no signs of stopping. And now the gaming giant is venturing into the world of animation! A few years ago, Ufotable released a proof-of-concept teaser trailer for a potential adaptation of Genshin Impact. However, nothing followed, and for years, fans were left wondering if the anime was still a possibility. Now, thanks to a new teaser, we know not only is it still possible, but it is actually confirmed and in production!

It is not currently known where in the stages of production the project is, but it is safe to assume it will still be a while before any more info comes out. Ufotable has been focused on the production of the Demon Slayer finale movies, with Infinity Castle having released last year and the 2nd film in the trilogy coming out in 2027.

Genshin Impact could either be being worked on in Ufotable’s spare time or with another team separate from the Demon Slayer movies. It is also possible that the upcoming series could be on their back burner until they can dedicate themselves fully to the project. Given that Ufotable felt confident enough to announce it, it is safe to assume it is being worked on in tandem.

While much of what the show will adapt is unknown, it is safe to assume that it will adapt the game’s story for the first nation players visit, with that being Mondstadt. It is also currently up in the air if the show will have Aether or Lumine as the protagonist, while the other will take the role as the leader of the Abyss

While waiting for the show, fans of the series can play the game on Xbox, PlayStation 5, PC and mobile devices!
