Anime Fire cares about all things anime and covers a variety of anime-related content. Our mission is to cater to fans of all ages, while creating an inclusive environment where anyone and everyone can celebrate anime culture.

This is a volunteer, unpaid position; our goal is to continue Anime Fire’s growth, so that this can change in the future. Please note that this opportunity is currently open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

If you are a writer with a passion for anime, Anime Fire wants to hear from you. This is your chance to use your voice and talk about the things you love! As part of the writing team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute your creativity and expertise while having access to some really cool perks and events.

We’re looking for individuals who are able to be consistent in their writing practice and open to feedback. We’re not looking for writers at a post-graduate level; at the same time, they are expected to have a firm grasp on proper grammar and sentence structure. We do not tolerate generative AI, ever.

  • Writing articles on a variety of topics, such as new anime series, upcoming seasons and releases, anime merchandise, recommendations, individual spotlights, events, and more.
  • Communicating regularly with the Anime Fire team.
  • Initiating research on upcoming anime, events, and news to create meaningful content.
  • A love of anime and/or manga
  • Reliable and consistent, able to take the initiative with minimal prompting
  • A self-starter, optimistic, creative, detail-oriented, willing to be flexible, and can work both individually and as a part of a growing and talented team
  • Must be proficient in written English and using Google Docs
  • A desire to be part of a  team that achieves its vision quickly
  • Comfortable with a monthly quota.

As a reminder, this is a voluntary and unpaid role. However, benefits include press passes and VIP options (perks) to any convention or event Anime Fire is associated with, which currently include the following:

From time to time, you may also receive merch and other fun goodies!

For transparency, we’ve included some notes that we feel are essential to know before applying:

  1. All articles must be about anime and anime-adjacent topics, with a minimum of 300 words. Content-wise, priority will always go to news and releases. That said, there is freedom to write entertainment pieces as supplemental material.
  2. A monthly quota of three (3) articles is the current requirement to be eligible for writer perks, such as press passes for events, freebies, etc.
  3. To help us maintain a safe and trustworthy environment for all contributors, we ask that all writers participate under their legal name and provide accurate information throughout the application and onboarding process. The use of pseudonyms, aliases, or fictitious identities is not permitted. In certain circumstances, we may request reasonable verification of identity if needed to confirm eligibility or the accuracy of information provided.
