The latest film in the Demon Slayer world, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, is set to release in Japanese theaters on July 18th, with overseas releases scheduled in the months to follow. The first trailer for the highly anticipated film was released this week.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle focuses on the final conflict between the Demon Slayer Corps, who have fallen right into Muzan Kibutsuji’s infinity castle, and all of Kibutsuji’s demons, including the dreaded Twelve Kizuki.
Warning: Spoilers for the final arc ahead.
Three significant battles were highlighted, foreshadowing intense combat to come.
The first major confrontation shown was Shinobu Kocho versus Doma, Upper Rank Two of the Twelve Kizuki. Having previously killed Shinobu’s older sister, Kanae Kocho, Doma faces Shinobu in a battle of strategy, sacrifice, and revenge.
The next fight hinted at is between Zenitsu Agatsuma and Kaigaku, Upper Rank Six of the Twelve Kizuki. This mysterious demon replaced Daki and Gyutaro after their deaths, and just so happens to be a former disciple of the Thunder Hashira whom Zenitsu trained alongside for years.
Last but not least, the trailer shows Tanjiro Kamado confronting Akaza, Upper Rank Three of the Twelve Kizuki. Demon Slayer fans may remember Akaza as the main antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train, who was responsible for the death of beloved hashira Kyojuro Rengoku.
About the film
Alongside the trailer announcement, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle’s theme songs and artists were released. Aimer will perform the song, “A World Where the Sun Never Rises” for the upcoming film. LiSA is making a return to the Kimetsu no Yaiba universe, having previously sung the opening “Gurenge” from season one of Demon Slayer. She will perform the song, “Shine in the Cruel Night.”
Although the film is set to release in Japan on July 18, international fans will have to wait a bit longer. The release dates worldwide are as follows:
- UK — August 12
- Indonesia — August 15
- Philippines — August 20
- Brazil, Mexico and UAE — September 11
- Canada, India, South Africa and USA — September 12
The Infinity Castle arc will span across three separate films, with the two films expected to be released in 2026 and 2027. Until then, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba can be found on Crunchyroll, including the latest season, the Hashira Training Arc.
