The ultimate battle for Japan is nearly here! Studio Bones has dropped a new teaser for My Hero Academia’s eighth season. Fans can expect nonstop action and heated battles in the last installment of the beloved series. The trailer offers a glimpse of Izuku and Shigaraki’s epic showdown, which has left us on edge since season seven’s finale aired eight months ago.
Warning: This will contain spoilers.
My Hero Academia picks up right where it left off, fraught with tension and mid-combat. Izuku is fiercely battling Shigaraki, as All Might desperately keeps All For One at bay. Meanwhile, Bakugo’s fate is still unknown after the possibly-fatal blow, delivered by Shigaraki. Following Toga and Kurogiri’s surprise attack, Aizawa and Present Mic are nowhere to be found. UA is falling from the sky and Gentle Criminal is working relentlessly to slow its descent, while the rest of Izuku’s friends and classmates go beyond to defeat the remaining villains. The intense, final season will reveal the outcome of all of these major story threads, in Plus Ultra style.
About My Hero Academia
For those unfamiliar with My Hero Academia, the series is set in an alternate Japan where humans are born with natural powers, or Quirks. The story follows Izuku Midoriya as he attends UA, the top Hero Academy in the country. Originally Quirkless, he is bullied by his classmate and rival, Katsuki Bakugo. After a series of events, he meets All Might, his idol and the #1 hero of Japan. Soon after, he begins intensive training and receives All Might’s Quirk, One For All. After successfully getting into UA, he makes new allies, learns about hidden enemies, and navigates through the learning curve of his newfound abilities to save Japan.
As with all previous seasons, Naomi Nakayama is returning as the director, along with screenwriter Yosuke Kuroda and composer Yuki Hayashi. All of the existing voice actors are expected to return, including:
Daiki Yamashita as Izuku Midoriya
Kenta Miyake as All Might
Hiroshi Kamiya as Young All For One
Koki Uchiyama as Tomura Shigaraki
My Hero Academia’s final season is set to premiere in October of 2025, although no specific date has been announced. You can stream My Hero Academia on both Crunchyroll and Hulu.
