Being able to protect your loved ones is something we all hope to strive for. We want to shield them from danger and fight until our very last breaths to keep them safe from harm. We want to preserve and protect the people who guide us through life and motivate us to be our best. And, for Sakamoto, Shin, and Lu, family relationships are something that they are desperate to protect. Here is the fourth episode review of Sakamoto Days.
Episode 4 Recap
The episode starts with two new assassins. Boiled (voiced by SungWon Cho) and Obiguro (voiced by Alexis Cabrera), are tasked with taking out Sakamoto and crew since Tatsu failed. Sakamoto asks who Tatsu is working for. Tatsu explains it’s Dondekai Limited, a seedy assassin agency under the Japanese Assassin Association, or, JAA for short. Tatsu asks if Sakamoto is part of The Order. However, Sakamoto doesn’t answer his question. Tatsu is confused as to why the crew doesn’t kill him, and Shin explains that it would ruin the family’s good time before they leave him tied up.
Sakamoto and crew enter a haunted house, and Lu drinks alcohol to stop feeling scared. Assassins try to ruin the family’s time, but Sakamoto takes them out without drawing attention from Hana and Aoi. Obiguro asks how Boiled knows Sakamoto. Then, it cuts to a flashback with Boiled, Sakamoto, and Nagumo. Boiled follows Sakamoto around and hangs out with him as if they’re friends. He watches him get attention from multiple women on Valentine’s Day. When Nagumo asks who Boiled is, Sakamoto tells him he has no clue and offers the chocolate to him.
Back in the haunted house, Lu opens a door that is holding a ton of zombies, causing everyone to split up. Sakamoto tries to group back up with Hana and Aoi, but Boiled keeps him distracted with his Super Ball bombs. Shin finds Hana and Aoi unconscious and with Obiguro, but Lu steps in with the drunken fighting style to fight Obiguro off. Unfortunately, she becomes a sad drunk at the mention of Shin getting chopped to pieces. Boiled seems to have the advantage against Sakamoto. However, Sakamoto remembers what Boiled’s Super Ball bombs are made of and promises not to hold anything back as he emerges from the smoke of the bombs as a skinnier version of himself.
SAKAMOTO DAYS Review of Episode 4
I loved the introduction to Boiled and Obiguro. These two assassins seem far stronger than the ones that have gone after Sakamoto and crew thus far, and seeing Sakamoto struggle to fend Boiled off at the start had my blood pumping. It made me question if Sakamoto had found his match, but seeing Sakamoto say that he wasn’t going to hold back anymore, had me on the edge of my seat. Also, Tatsu’s question about The Order intrigued me, along with Sakamoto’s refusal to answer the question. What is The Order? And, even more so, what is Dondekai Limited’s goal? Either way, the next episode seems to be leading up to an action-packed climax, and I am very excited to see how it goes.
