Calling all Straw Hats! While fans eagerly await the latest season, Netflix and Tomorrow Studios are teaming up with The LEGO Group to bring One Piece to life with various LEGO sets from the live-action series.
One Piece x LEGO
Although the exact sets have yet to be revealed, Netflix stated they would be scenes from the series, leaving fans to guess they could have their version of The Going Merry, the iconic ship, or the pirate-base Arlong Park. Netflix confirmed that fans’ favorite One Piece characters will soon be available in Lego Minifigure form for the first time. The teaser trailer on Netflix doesn’t reveal much, only showing Luffy’s famous straw hat in Lego brick form.
This is LEGO’s first anime collaboration since distribution rights likely caused issues with other series getting their Minifigure sets. One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda seems most excited about the partnership, claiming he has asked for a One Piece x LEGO collaboration for years.
About the Series
One Piece, written by Eiichiro Oda, has been streaming since 1999, with the manga beginning in 1997. Although One Piece has consistently streamed since 1999, the anime is currently on hiatus until April to give animators a much-needed break. Netflix started streaming One Piece, the live-action adaptation, in 2023. Fans await season 2 that is set to be released later this year.
One Piece follows Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) on his quest to become King of the Pirates with his crew, The Straw Hats. The crew consists of swordsman Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), cartographer Nami (Emily Rudd), chef Sanji (Taz Skylar), and storyteller Usopp (Jacob Romero). The five sail across the seas, hoping to find Gold Roger’s (Michael Dorman) mysterious treasure known as the One Piece.
Fans eagerly await the official LEGO set announcements in the coming months. For the next season of One Piece, fans can find the original anime on Crunchyroll and the live-action on Netflix.
