Fall in line, Proxies! Zenless Zone Zero, the hit urban fantasy ARPG from the creators of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, is calling for reinforcements in Version 2.2 “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Quiet Night.” New characters, new events, and a new story chapter await players when the latest update launches on September 4th. Don’t be late, or the Captain will have to dish out some discipline!
Previously, players put a stop to the Exaltists’ and Porcelumex’s heinous experiments. The situation in Waifei Peninsula is far from stable, though. With Miasma spreading in the Hollow and rumors of more Exaltist activity, the Defense Force steps in to handle the threat. Obol Squad is dispatched to the area, under the command of Colonel Isodle, with two new recruitable agents in tow.
Get in the Robot, Proxy
Obol Squad’s genius engineer, Seed, is the newest S-Rank Electric Attack Agent. With her constant companion, Seed Sr., by her side, she increases the damage output of herself and her fellow Attack agents.
She’ll accumulate Steel Charge during battle, which she can use to summon Seed Sr. for deadly counterattacks. Her ultimate has her directly piloting Seed Sr. to unleash a barrage of missiles. Players can learn more about Seed and Seed Sr. in the new agent story “Flora of the Blooming Valley.” Seed will be available to recruit in the Signal Search Event Phase 1, along with a rerun of S-Rank Electric Stun Agent Trigger.
Where There's Sparks, There's Lasers
Orphie & Magus serve as Obol Squad’s captain duo, and are the newest S-Rank Fire Attack Agents. Their individual personalities may seem like opposites, but they excel in coordinated team combat.
Orphie & Magus provide covering fire from the sidelines and accumulate Bottled Heat. With enough Bottled Heat, they can launch a powerful laser beam that increases the team’s attack and allows Aftershock damage to ignore the enemies’ defense. Orphie & Magus will be available to recruit in the Signal Search Event Phase 2, along with a rerun of S-Rank Fire Attack Agent Evelyn.
Eh Nah-Nah!
Additionally, two new Bangboo allies will be available in Version 2.2. S-Rank Bangboo Mercury operates a tank on the battlefield and provides support with its firepower. A-Rank Bangboo Excaliboo can attack enemies by either bludgeoning or slashing with its legendary sword.
Version Exclusive Events
There’s even more Bangboo goodness in this version’s exclusive events. In “Band of Brave Bangboo,” players return to the tower defense gameplay of previous combat assessments with new Bangboo and new environmental hazards. Complete the event quests to redeem Excaliboo for free! For a more hands-on training exercise, participate in the “Problem Soldier Boot Camp” event. Help Seed, Orphie and Magus collect combat data in a special arena. Knock enemies into the electric fence and each other to swiftly take them out. To wind down from all the action, head over to Reverb Arena for the “Rhythm Rave” event. Press the button in time to classic ZZZ character songs to keep the party pumping.
Ridu Renovation Talk
With each update, the Zenless Zone Zero development team continues to improve the game’s quality of life with key optimizations. In Version 2.2, Suibian Temple management has been streamlined to improve resource gathering. Finding agent Trust Events will be easier than ever with character icons on the minimap and Quick Travel menu. Players will also be able to select between Belle and Wise when inviting agents for Quality Time. A more accessible W-Engine recommendation system will be introduced and the in-game Display Stand has been expanded. Enjoy these renovations and more when Version 2.2 launches September 4th!
