This year’s Jump Festa event was filled to the brim with multiple reveals and announcements! One exciting announcement was that My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, a spin-off of the hit manga, was receiving its very own anime.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Spin-off
The announcement came during Jump Festa’s My Hero Academia panel, with voice actors Daiki Yamashita, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Yuki Kaji,and Kenta Miyake in attendance. During the panel, they released the first trailer for the upcoming anime and the first official key art for the series. The new trailer shares some of the characters we will come to know, such as series protagonist Koichi Haimawari. Also, allies like Kazuho Haneyama and Knuckleduster.
Production is being handled by Toho and Bones Film, a subsidiary of Studio Bones. Bones Film will handle the spin-off, so there is minimal impact into Studio Bones’s work on the upcoming final season of My Hero Academia, which is set to premiere in the fall of 2025. The series will be directed by Kenichi Suzuki and written by Yosuke Kuroda.
About My Hero Academia: Vigilantes
For those unfamiliar with the spin-off, the series follows Koichi Haimawari as he becomes a vigilante. Unable to obtain a Pro-Hero license, he chooses this path after he and his friend, Kazuho Haneyama, are attacked by thugs. They are saved by Knuckleduster, and Koichi is recruited as his apprentice soon after. The series also features many treats for fans of the main series! Including, an expansion on Shota Aizawa’s backstory, a deeper look into how the Hero Commission works, and how characters like Nemuri Kayama and Rumi Usagiyama become their Pro-Hero identities of Midnight and Mirko respectively.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is expected to premiere in April 2025. Though a specific air date has not been officially revealed. No voice actors were revealed for the anime series as well.
