For nearly 30 years, Kenjiro Tsuda has taken the voice-acting world by storm. His deep voice is almost immediately recognizable when Tsuda plays a character in any series. 10. Hyakunosuke Ogata, from Golden Kamuy
Hyakunosuke Ogata, is a perfect role for Kenjiro Tsuda, a serious ex-sniper for the military and one of the main antagonists of Golden Kamuy. Ogata, is a somewhat emotionless and stoic man who works most for himself. Like many other characters in the anime, similar to Saichi Sugimoto and Asirpa, Ogata wants to find the mysterious Ainu gold. He will do whatever it takes to get his hands on it, including murder and kidnapping.
9. Wulf from the Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim
In a relatively new work, Kenjiro Tsuda voices Wulf, a vengeful man in Middle Earth. After his failed arranged marriage with his childhood friend Héra, and his father’s murder in a fistfight, Wulf quietly makes changes in his life. Seven years after his father’s death, Wulf becomes High Lord of the Dunlendings. Héra offers to marry him to avoid a war, but after she is taken back to her home, Wulf invades her town of Rohan to get revenge from all those years ago.
8. Nicolas Brown from Gangsta
A deaf central protagonist, with a sad family background, Nicolas Brown is a Twilight. A human with enhanced physical abilities who also works as a part of The Handymen. Brown, alongside his partner for The Handymen, Worick Arcangelo, carries out dangerous jobs for the mafia and the police. They use their fighting skills and extraordinary strength to carry out the roles. Brown previously worked as a mercenary. Since his father, the West Gate Mercenary commander, Gaston Brown, took Nicolas to work as a Tagged mercenary, he was raised to be an obedient soldier. With his many skills, Nicolas gets assigned to be Worick’s bodyguard, where they build a profound connection and working relationship.
7. Joker from Fire Force
The anti-hero, Joker, serves as the Fourth Pillar’s guardian and is a Third Generation pyrokinetic. Joker takes on the role of the second guardian, for the Fourth Pillar, who is also the protagonist, Shinra Kusakabe. However, they already have a guardian, Arthur Boyle. As a previous assassin of The Holy Sol Temple, Joker is incredibly skilled in combat and uses his power to create card-shaped projectiles. Although a guardian, Joker runs the line between an anti-hero and a villain. He is not necessarily a villain, but he is willing to fight whoever gets in the way of his quest to find out the truth about the world.
6. Kishibe from Chainsaw Man
The Captain of Tokyo Special Division 4, and the Leader of the Anti-Makima Squad, Kishibe is a stoic devil hunter. As the strongest member of his division, Kishibe’s personality remains relaxed and emotionless. However, his strength and brutality during devil hunting say otherwise. Kishibe’s softer side was highlighted during his training of Denji and Power, where he grew affectionate of the two, emphasizing his concerns for their safety. A true man’s man. One who enjoys “booze, women and killing devils.”
5. Setō Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters
In one of his more notable roles, Setō is an arrogant and wealthy chairman and CEO of KaibaCorp. Viewed as the story’s anti-hero, Setō is known for his egocentric personality and arrogance, but he still helps his rivals. However, only if they’re facing a common enemy. The ambitious businessman, who wants to become the world’s greatest player in Duel Monsters, faces one major challenge. He must beat his arch-rival Yugi Muto, the series’s protagonist. As the adopted son of the deceased Gozaburo Kaiba, the previous CEO of KaibaCorp, Setō consistently faces the repercussions of issues his father caused.
4. Dainsleif from Genshin Impact
One of his more underrated roles, Dainsleif in Genshin Impact, always deepens the game’s lore, telling the travelers stories of a world that no longer exists in their quest to find the truth in Teyvat. The former knight of Khaenri’ah, known as the “Twilight Sword”, Dainsleif roams Teyvat cursed to immortality. Since he failed to save his home of Khaenri’ah over 500 years ago, he now helps the traveler unearth the secrets of Teyvat and find the traveler’s missing sibling. With his connection to the traveler’s sibling and vast knowledge of Teyvat’s history, Dainsleif remains Genshin’s most mysterious and fascinating character.
3. Tatsu from Gokushufudou: The Way of the Househusband
When a 38-year-old yakuza member decides to retire and become a househusband for his loving wife, who better to voice him than Kenjiro Tsuda? Tatsu, previously known as the “Immortal Dragon” in his yakuza days, retired from his previous line of criminal work for his wife and chose to live as a househusband. In this comedy anime, Tatsu cooks, cleans and does all the household chores to support his wife Miku, who works long hours for them. With his ex-yakuza life, Tatsu spends every day outside weary that the police or criminals will recognize him from his life of crime.
2. Kai Chisaki from My Hero Academia
Kai Chisaki, also known as Overhaul, is the main antagonist in the Shie Hassaikai Arc. With his disassemble and reassemble quirk, Overhaul can destroy, restore or reshape whatever he touches into whatever he wants with just a single touch. Overhaul works for the Shie Hassaikai, a yakuza group, where he takes over the organization after his boss falls into a coma and sets to achieve major goals for their group. When introduced, Kai Chisaki created a ‘Quirk-Destroying Drug’ to bring back power to the organization, hurting the child Eri to create the drug.
1. Nanami Kento from Jujutsu Kaisen
Without a doubt, Kenjiro Tsuda’s most popular and beloved role is none other than Nanami Kento from Jujutsu Kaisen. The blonde sorcerer plays a crucial role in JJK as one of the main character’s mentors and the 7:3 sorcerer. After leaving the sorcery world to become a salaryman, Nanami returns to his job as a sorcerer. As a well-known figure in the jujutsu sorcerer world because of his record of black flashes, Nanami was assigned to mentor Itadori Yuuji upon his return. With his 7:3 technique and blunt sword covered in cloth, Nanami teaches Yuji necessary fighting and sorcerer skills, such as seeing remnants, to help the new sorcerer handle his power now. During the Shibuya Incident, Nanami fights alongside Ino Takuma and Megumi Fushiguro against the disfigured humans in an attempt to save as many people in Japan as possible.
