Zenless Zone Zero is the latest game available from miHoyo! It features fast-paced action, RPG elements, and plenty of characters to befriend and collect. With a new year, comes new adventures and friends.
In Version 1.5, a star songstress descends into New Eridu, bringing a melody that celebrates the happiness of new connections. As always, new gameplay and features await in the latest update. For now, here are some highlights of the brand-new content players can expect in the latest version!
As New Eridu prepares for the new year celebrations, The Queen prepares to take the stage. Proxies have already met her on a couple of occasions. Still, in the special episode “Astra-nomical Moment,” they’ll deepen their bonds with the superstar singer, Astra Yao, and her ever-faithful bodyguard, Evelyn. With one simple wish, Astra hopes to follow in her predecessor’s footsteps to bring happiness to all. However, the world is not so simple and dark forces plot offstage. The Starloop Tower is not only her stage, but also her battlefield. It will be up to the Proxies to protect and guide her on the right path.
New Characters
Astra Yao is the newest S-Rank Ether Support agent. Her talent for singing carries over into her specialized combat. With enough energy, she can enter the “Idyllic Cadenza” state, where she starts her own mini-concert. In this state, she can dodge enemies while maintaining her singing and if another ally switches in, she remains on the field and becomes invulnerable, granting buffs until her concert ends. Her Ultimate will instantly activate her “Idyllic Cadenza” state, heal her allies, and trigger two “Quick Assists”. Proper energy management is the key to maximizing Astra’s buffs. Players can recruit Astra Yao during the first Signal Search event of the update.
Evelyn joins the fight as the newest S-Rank Fire Attack agent. With lightning fast attacks and deadly garrote wire techniques, Evelyn is always prepared to defend her charge. Her kit is all about achieving her “Binding Seal”, as often and on as many enemies as possible. As she strikes enemies with her skills, she will accumulate “Burning Embers” that empower her next basic attacks, but only while “Binding Seal” is active. Additionally, these empowered attacks will grant “Burning Tether Points.” Gather three “Burning Tether Points” and achieve the “Binding Seal” to unleash a powerful explosion. With deadly precision and plenty of surprises up her sleeve, Evelyn is always prepared to face the fight head on. Players can recruit Evelyn during the second Signal Search event of the update.
In addition to Astra and Evelyn, players will be introduced to the newest Bangboo companion, Snap. They’ll capture every awesome moment while the agents fight and even deal damage with their blinding flash photography. Ver 1.5 will also feature the first reruns of S-Rank agent signal searches. Both Ellen Joe and Qingyi will be featured, so players who missed out will have a chance to recruit them again. Ellen will also be getting her own Agent Story and Combat Showcase. In “The Troubles of Ellen the Shark”, Proxies will help Ellen navigate her daily life while keeping her employment at Victoria Housekeeping a secret.
Gameplay Updates and Events
“The Days of Brilliant Wishes”: Every year, New Eridu holds a Bangboo beauty contest and the winner will step onstage with Astra to ring in the new year. Astra already has her sights set on Eous, and promises to help make them the star of the show. Proxies will have to dress up Eous to best match the theme of each stage. Then they’ll compete against other Bangboo to strike the best poses. Input the button prompts in the correct order to maximize the final score. After the beauty contest, there’s the “Grand Marcel Adventure”, where Proxies will directly control Eous in a series of Bangboo-themed obstacle courses. It’ll be a tough road to earn the people’s adoration, but if any-boo can do it, Eous can!
“Elpis Ultimate Angler Championship”: Rare bioluminescent fish have been spotted at Port Elpis, prompting a flood of fishing enthusiasts to cast their lines. To capitalize on the popularity, the Fishing Association has set up a tournament where the grand prize is the privilege to night fish at Reef Island. Qingyi will invite the Proxies to take part, but there may be more to her presence than meets the eye. Regardless, players can fill their encyclopedia with various fish species, all the while contributing to the restoration of Port Elpis’ lighthouse. It’s a good ol’ fishing frenzy!
“Godfinger Ultimate Showdown”: The Urban Video Game Festival finally comes to town and the Godfigner arcade has been selected as a participating store. By playing games and completing tasks, Proxies will earn exchange tokens which can be redeemed for Polychromes, upgrade materials, and more. A new arcade game will debut during the festival called, “Mach 25”. In this racing minigame, players will avoid obstacles and gather power ups to achieve high scores. New vehicles will unlock the further players progress. As if that wasn’t enough, updates to the “Bizarre Brigade” minigame are also on the way! Players can soon enjoy the roguelite experience in co-op mode. Also, Belle, Wise, and the Cunning Hares have been added as selectable characters. Time to get your game on!
Additional gameplay updates and events featuring Hollow Zero, the Endless Tower, Master Tape and Boopon check-in giveaways, and a new photo mode will be available through the newest update.
New Features and Optimizations
- For the first time ever, new alternate outfits will be available for agents Astra, Ellen, and Nicole. Astra’s “Chandelier” outfit, and Ellen’s “On Campus” outfit, can be purchased from the new in-game store. Nicole’s “Cunning Cute” outfit can be obtained for free from the “Days of Brilliant Wishes” event.
- A new share function will be added to the display stand and Memory Board. Proxies can show off their favorite collectibles and photos directly to social media.
- The dynamic wallpaper feature will be updated. Players can now select up to five wallpapers that will randomly cycle. There will also be a tab to select wallpapers obtained from special events, like the “Ultimate Angler Championship.”
- The Drive Discs system has been optimized for better readability and acquisition. Routine Cleanup stages will display which Drive Discs can be obtained. When using a Victoria Housekeeping coupon to sweep a certain stage, players will be able to view specific Drive Disc details and select which ones to lock or discard.
