Zenless Zone Zero, the latest urban fantasy ARPG from miHoYo, is gearing up for the Version 1.3 update! New agents, new Bangboo, and new game modes await you in this latest update. For now, let’s recap all of the exciting new additions from the “Virtual Revenge” Special Program!
All-New Partner Archives
First up, are the new recruitable agents. Tsukishiro Yanagi is the newest S-Rank Electric Anomaly agent. She is the Deputy Chief of Hollow Special Operations Section 6 and her calm demeanor is known for keeping the other members in check. In combat, she wields a specialized naginata and switches between stances to gain buffs and build up Anomaly power.
Proxies can learn more about Yanagi and Section 6 in the special episode, “Virtual Revenge.” They’ll also have the chance to recruit Yanagi, and obtain her exclusive W-Engine, in the first Search Event Phase of the update.
Next up is Lighter, whom Proxies have already met from Ver 1.2. He’s an S-Rank Fire Stun agent and the champion of the Sons of Calydon. With a fist that burns as brightly as his loyalty to his comrades, Lighter defends the honor of the Sons of Calydon in the lawless Outer Ring. He overwhelms opponents with a flurry of punches, which builds his morale, and unleashes a deadly combo that quickly fills the stun meter. A new Agent Story featuring Lighter, “The Champion”, will become available in Ver 1.3 and Proxies can recruit him and obtain his W-Engine in the second Search Event Phase of the update.
All-New Bangboo
Let’s not forget the trusty Bangboo companions! Two new Bangboo have been added in the 1.3 update. Proxies can signal search in the Bangboo channel for Baddieboo, an A-Rank Bangboo who uses rocket launchers and Molotov cocktails. The other A-Rank Bangboo, Knightboo, will be a reward for clearing a new gamemode. In combat, Knightboo will occasionally drop stars that restore energy for agents. Look forward to recruiting these new agents and Bangboo in Ver 1.3.
All-New Gameplay
Several new game modes will also debut in the newest update. Both Yanagi and Lighter’s themed agent stories feature new gameplay where Proxies can collect unique tokens and exchange them for rewards. Also, there is the Simulated Battle Trial, where Proxies can challenge progressively harder combat scenarios while climbing a virtual tower. The higher they climb, the stronger the enemies they face.
A new rogue-like mode will be added to Hollow Zero called, “The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault.” In this mode, Proxies use the HDD (TV mode) to explore multiple floors of randomly generated areas and challenges. They’ll gather items, select buffs, and collect combat power to defeat enemies. By completing a certain number of challenges, Proxies will automatically be rewarded with a Knightboo of their very own.
Throughout the update, there will be several Bangboo-central events including a food truck and photo rally. A new store will open in Lumina Square, where Proxies can purchase special figures to display on the second floor of Random Play. Ver 1.3 will also introduce several menu optimizations including: a new menu to select Weekly Missions, optimization to the crafting/dismantling system, and a new sorting system for Drive Discs.
