Overwatch 2 goes plus ultra with their latest anime collaboration, My Hero Academia, which will feature skins of fan-favorite characters! The collaboration lasts from October 17-30, featuring five major My Hero Academia characters. With the finale of season 7 of My Hero Academia set to release on October 12th, the collaboration comes at the perfect time for fans of the anime.Â
My Hero Academia currently releases episodes of season 7 every Saturday on Crunchyroll, where fans can also find the rest of the series.
"My Hero Academia" x "Overwatch 2" Collaboration
Revealed through a recent trailer release, Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia features five anime character skins to dress up as. Fans get to see the freckled duo, with Tracer as the main character Deku, and with Juno in a space-themed pink costume as Uravity. Tracer and Juno having these skins was an ideal match with similar colors, aesthetics and personalities.
With their shared desire for justice, Reinhardt, dressed as All Might, makes perfect sense. Especially, since they are both viewed as symbols of peace in their respective worlds. By turning Reinhardt’s gray armor into All Might’s uniform, players get to see a brighter and more colorful version of the character.
The collaboration also features the League of Villains, with Kiriko as Himiko Toga. Both Kiriko and Himiko are known for their youthful and energized personalities, with a hint of an intimidating presence. Those qualities makes the skin a fan-favorite collaboration. Finally, players get to see the deadliest hero, Reaper, as the League of Villains leader, formally known as Tomura Shigaraki.
About "Overwatch 2"
Released in 2022, the first-person shooter game, Overwatch 2, came out as an update and replacement for Overwatch. Overwatch 2 is no stranger to anime collaborations. There was a One Punch Man collaboration in 2023 and a Cowboy Bepop collaboration earlier this year that previously took over the game. Many more are likely to come.
This collaboration brings the best of both worlds, showing off the My Hero Academia characters’ styles, with Overwatch 2 characters, whose personalities and aesthetics pair well.Â
Fans can play Overwatch 2 on multiple platforms, including Windows, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. We cannot wait to see which anime collaborations come to the game next!
