About the "Dragon Ball" Franchise
Toriyama created the original Dragon Ball manga in 1984 and published it in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump.” The Dragon Ball franchise has exploded since then, with multiple anime series and movies, video and trading card games, and merchandise. The manga has sold more than 260 million copies around the world. Dragon Ball is considered one of the most influential manga series of all time.
Dragon Ball follows Son Goku’s life from boy to man. After meeting Bulma, the two set out on a quest to collect the dragon balls, a set of seven orange orbs that summon Shenron, a wish-granting dragon. Along the way, Goku learns and practices martial arts, and uses his strength to fight evil.
