A new trailer for Sonic X Shadow Generations has dropped, and with it, more details on what to expect. The new info ranges from new levels and bosses, to new abilities for Shadow the Hedgehog.
Sonic x Shadow Generations
In this trailer, we get a deeper look into what abilities Shadow will have throughout the game. One of these abilities, now revealed to be called the Doom Wings, was revealed in the previous trailer. We received four new abilities in this trailer that Shadow will learn as the story progresses. There are Doom Spears, which seem to function like his Chaos Spears from previous games. He also has Doom Blast, which forces an enemy away before teleporting to them to perform a combo. There is Doom Morph, which transforms him into a more alien-like form that allows travel across certain terrain. Lastly, there is Doom Surf that allows him to surf across the water. What to Expect in Sonic x Shadow Generations
Along with these abilities, we see more levels that will appear in the game throughout Shadow’s journey. There is more of Radical Highway from Sonic Adventure 2. However, it remains unseen if there will be sections in other levels, similar to the Space Colony Ark stage, or if it is its own stage entirely. There are glimpses of Sunset Heights, last seen in Sonic Forces, and Chaos Island from Sonic Frontiers. Metal Overlord will be returning from Sonic Heroes as a big boss fight for Shadow.
The game’s hub world, White Space, is shown in a little more detail. There will be collectibles that can be found in chests, and some areas will only be accessible once Shadow unlocks certain Doom Abilities. E-123 Omega, one of Shadow’s closest friends and allies, is seen in the background in the hub. It is currently unknown what role Omega will serve in the story.
Sonic X Shadow Generations serves as a remaster of Sonic Generations. It adds a new story involving Shadow as he is confronted by Black Doom, an alien warlord previously thought to have been dead after his last battle against Shadow the Hedgehog. Shadow now has to travel through places important to his past to stop Black Doom once more before his plan can complete his new plan to take over the world. Sonic X Shadow Generations is expected to release October 25th, 2024, for all current consoles.
