“BARTENDER Glass of God” Episode 7 is Heavily Relatable

Tensions are high with the latest episode of BARTENDER Glass of God. With our cast of characters dealing with providing a drink menu for their clients, and with a son trying to obtain his father’s approval, Episode 7 of BARTENDER Glass of God continues to provide heart wrenching and relatable content that leaves me eager for more. Here is the Episode 7 review of BARTENDER Glass of God.

"BARTENDER Glass of God" Episode 7 Recap

bartender glass of god episode 3

BARTENDER Glass of God episode 7 starts off with Miwa and Yukari getting the opinions of the other hotel staff members on what drink they should serve as their welcome drink for foreigners who visit. The decision is unanimous; the drink should serve to provide the welcoming hospitality that Japan is known for. Miwa and Yukari enlist Ryuu’s help to make the drink menu, which the man accepts. In the middle of it all however, we see that Kelvin has returned and is asking Ryuu for a job. Our cast of characters find out that Kelvin is heir to run a very upscale hotel. Also, his father wants to take him out of Japan to head to Singapore.

However, Kelvin reveals that he wasn’t originally supposed to be the heir. The position was supposed to go to his older brother who had tragically passed away. Kelvin tries to prove to his father that he wants to bartend by making his father a Singapore Sling. He fails in changing his father’s mind. His father criticizes Kelvin, citing that Kelvin has decent bartending skills but lacks the service portion of the job. That he lacks the skill we usually see with Ryuu; providing above par customer service instead of just showing off his bartending skills.

While he does try again and his father appreciates the drink, he is still dead set on Kelvin leaving Japan. Ryuu meanwhile makes a drink for the hotel, however the staff don’t seem too keen on the drink. Ryuu admits that it’s harder to make a drink when he doesn’t know the guests on a personal level. This speaks a bit in regards to his experience as a bartender.

Episode 7 Provides Relatable Moments

Much like episode 5 of BARTENDER Glass of God, episode 7 continues to provide a relatable scenario of parents not understanding that their kids have their own hobbies and ideas. That a lot of kids don’t want to follow in the footsteps of their parents and instead, want to make something of themselves outside of their parent’s image. I do hope that Kelvin’s father can understand Kelvin’s passion for bartending and that he won’t try to force Kelvin to do something he doesn’t feel passionate about. As for Ryuu, I hope he can continue to hone his skills as a bartender to continue making drinks that will satisfy his clients. Hopefully soon, we as an audience can see him rise up to the top and finally make a drink that can be considered a Glass of God.
