The Japanese clothing company Uniqlo has come out with another manga/anime collaboration, this time with the highly anticipated Kaiju No. 8. Released earlier this week, Kaiju No. 8 UT features a collection of six t-shirts inspired by the characters and scenes from the anime.
Uniqlo Kaiju No. 8 Collaboration
The collection features the following t-shirts:
- Kaiju No. 8 / Kafka Hibino – Showcases main character Kafka Hibino’s human and kaiju form
- JAKDF – “Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force,” or the organization responsible for taking down the kaiju
- Monster Sweeper – Hibino and his cleanup crew coworker Reno Ichikawa chat in front of one of the monster sweepers
- Mina Ashiro / Kafka Hibino – Hibino draws the JAKDF logo with childhood friend Mina Ashiro, captain of the Third Division of the JAKDF
- Soshiro Hoshina – Showcases the vice captain of the Third Division of the JAKDF Soshiro Hoshina and his swords
- Kaiju No. 8 – Hibino’s kaiju form enveloped in the number 8
The t-shirts are available in men’s sizing and range from XXS to 3XL and cost $24.50 each. The collection is available online and in stores.
About Kaiju No. 8
Kaiju No. 8 follows the story of a world where kaiju, or strange creatures / monsters, regularly wreak havoc in Japan. The country has created the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force in order to eliminate the beasts. Main character Kafka Hibino works on the cleanup crew after kaijus are defeated. He once vowed to be part of the Defense Force with childhood friend Mina Ashiro, who became the captain of the Third Division in the JAKDF. One day after a kaiju attack on Hibino and coworker Reno Ichikawa, a small kaiju enters Hibino’s body, and Hibino gains kaiju powers!
The first five episodes of Kaiju No. 8 are available to stream on Crunchyroll, and new episodes are live streamed and released every Saturday.
