"My Hero Academia" Season 6 Recap
During the first half of the season, there are many important events that happen that set up the major plot points of the upcoming season. The biggest thing to remember is that Tomura Shigaraki has the All For One quirk at his disposal, giving him a vast array of quirks for him to use. He has also increased the power of his own Decay quirk, being able to level almost an entire city, making him even more dangerous with just his own quirk. But while more powerful than he has been, with the combined effort of Deku, Dynamight, Eraserhead and many other pro-heroes, Shigaraki was forced to retreat and recover, giving the heroes ample time to prepare for what is to come.
Izuku Midoriya (Deku) has also increased his power and control over One For All, being able to use all but one quirk tied to One For All. Those quirks are Fa Jin, Danger Sense, Blackwhip, Fa Jin, and Float. It is the battle against Shigaraki that makes Deku start to worry about everyone’s safety when it comes to being around him after Dynamight takes a massive blow for him, Eraserhead is forced to cut off his own leg, and Gran Torino takes a brutal hit to the chest. After the battle and a few talks with the past users and Gran Torino in the hospital, it is here that Izuku decides that he needs to leave UA for everyone’s safety, revealing his secret to his class through letters to each classmate and friend he has made in Class 1-A.
Multiple Confrontations
Ochaco Uraraka and Himiko Toga have their own thread to tie up, as their opposing views on how heroes view the villains as well as their opposing views on what it means to love someone. During a pivotal confrontation during the first war, Himiko Toga inquires as to whether Ochaco believes villains deserve to die for their actions. She gets her answer when Ochaco exclaims that Himiko Toga deserves whatever consequence she gets handed to her for her actions. This causes Toga to tear up and retreat after Froppy intervenes, leaving Ochaco confused and concerned, needing her own answers from Toga herself. Hopefully, we will get these answers with their upcoming confrontation.
Shoto and his family have one massive plot point of their own to wrap up; that being that the oldest Todoroki child, Toya, is the villain, Dabi. It is during their confrontation that Dabi reveals this truth to the entire country, as well as the truth that Endeavor has not been a great father and has harmed his children and his wife all in the pursuit of the perfect creation to take on All Might’s number 1 position. This, along with the devastation of the entire battle, is what spurs the entirety of Japan to lose its faith in the Pro-Heroes and creates an almost lawless state. Shoto, during a confrontation with his father in hospital, states that they’ll have to pull themselves together if they want any chance of defeating Dabi and hopefully bring him back to his senses. The upcoming clash between brothers will be one of the biggest moments in the upcoming season to watch.
Last Half of the Season
The second half My Hero Academia season 6 sets up the importance that Izuku and his friends will have with the upcoming final battle. During his time away from UA, Izuku tires himself out to a point of completely cutting off everyone, including the team of Pros that are helping him out at this point. He ends up fighting former hero-turned-villain, Lady Nagant, hired by All For One during his massive breakout. He also has a confrontation with Dictator, before 1-A saves him. They implore him to come back to UA and rest so that they can stop the League of Villains together. Izuku refuses and tries to escape, resulting in the entire class working together and stopping the exhausted Izuku from falling into All For One’s trap. After Katsuki apologizes for everything he’s done to Izuku and Izuku apologizes to everyone for saying they can’t keep up, Izuku collapses and is brought back to UA.
After convincing the refugees at UA with a resounding speech by Ochaco, Izuku finally rests and the class begins to start planning with some help by All Might. He apologizes for the trouble that keeping One For All a secret has caused. He then tells the class that a request for foreign heroes to assist them was sent. After this, we see that the United States of America’s number one hero, Star and Stripe, has begun making her way to Japan, to assist in the upcoming battle and it is here that the previous season ends.
