Jujutsu Kaisen fans’ dedication to the series (and Gojo) has paid off. Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK) has been named the world’s most in-demand animated tv show by the Guinness Book of World Records for 2025. This beat out other highly-ranked shonen series such, as One Piece or Attack on Titan, the latter which has held the record for the last four years.

Thanks to the popular and devastating Shibuya Incident Arc airing through the second half of last year, JJK soared in the ratings. Entertainment analytics website Parrot Analytics and Guinness reported that around the world, JJK had a demand that was 71.2x higher than regular TV series; just in the last 30 days, JJK had a 42.6x higher demand in the United States alone. Its most popular viewing day was December 29, 2023, the day following season 2’s finale. JJK was 128x more popular than the average show.
The shonen is no stranger to winning awards, including Crunchyroll’s 2024 Anime of the Year, Best Character Design, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Action Anime, Best Supporting Anime Character (Gojo), Best Anime Opening Sequence, and Best Anime Ending Sequence, to name a few.
So, the next time you meet the voice actors from JJK, be sure to bring a copy of the Guinness Book of World Records for them to sign!
JJK is based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami. The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high schooler with remarkable strength. He becomes the host of powerful curse Ryomen Sukuna through consuming Sukuna’s cursed finger. Itadori trains under Satoru Gojo and with other students at Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School to become a jujutsu sorcerer, while also consuming all 20 of Sukuna’s fingers in order to eliminate the curse (and ultimately lead to Yuji’s death).
Jujutsu Kaisen is available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
