It has never been easier for LG Smart TV owners to watch all their favorite anime on Crunchyroll. The company is rolling out an official Crunchyroll app for LG Smart TVs in the US and many other markets worldwide today.

More and more people have purchased Smart TVs in recent years, with even some of the most standard models having the ability to host apps for streaming services and web browsers. Services like Disney+, Netflix and Hulu have become staples in many households, and the ability to access them straight from a TV has made them all the more ubiquitous. Up until recently, watching Crunchyroll on most Smart TVs was not as easy as adding their app to your homepage, and while the Crunchyroll app for smartphones has been around for a good long while now, there had yet to be a way to stream directly to most TVs. However, Crunchyroll’s most recent collaboration with LG Electronics grants access to the app through LG Smart TV. Crunchyroll also launched an app on Samsung Smart TVs earlier this month, meaning that more people than ever before have easy access to Crunchyroll’s vast library of anime episodes, films, Japanese music videos and concert specials.
Crunchyroll is one of the biggest names in anime streaming services today, especially with the recent announcement that the Funimation streaming service is finally being shut down two years after the company was consolidated into Crunchyroll. With more than 13 million subscribers and serving more than 200 countries, it not only offers a massive library of anime both in the original Japanese with various subtitle language options and often dubbed into multiple languages as well, it also offers viewers access to simulcasts, meaning international viewers are able to watch top series immediately following the original Japanese broadcasts and stay on top of their favorite shows with essentially no delay. Currently, Crunchyroll is available on 15 platforms, including most gaming consoles, in addition to the two recent Smart TV additions.
