In honor of Studio BONES celebrating its 25th anniversary, Crunchyroll is releasing a four-part documentary series, entitled BONES 25: DREAMING FORWARD. The docuseries will begin streaming today, February 13, in celebration with the episodes of the new original anime by Studio BONES’ Metallic Rouge.

BONES 25: DREAMING FORWARD will contain four episodes, each 24 minutes long, focusing on the studio and its greatest hits. The series is produced by Crunchyroll and French production company DeltaRocket. More specifically, it is produced by DeltaRocket’s Jace, who has worked on 40 different French documentaries, for a variety of French media outlets.
Studio BONES is most notable for incredible animes and some of the greatest hits of the last 25 years, such as Cowboy Bebop: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, My Hero Academia, Bungo Stray Dogs, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood and many more.
Each of the four parts of BONES 25: DREAMING FORWARD focuses on different aspects of Studio BONES. These parts include “The History of Bones,” “Style and Originality,” “Successful Adaptation,” and “Metallic Rouge: The Future of Bones.” BONES 25: DREAMING FORWARD, will include over 30 known personalities, such as Studio BONES President Masahiko Minami, Bungo Stray Dogs author Kafka Asagiri, Mob Psycho 100 author ONE and many more known creatives.
Along with the series, Studio BONES released an original anime entitled Metallic Rouge, directed by Motonobu Hori, on January 11th to celebrate the studio’s 25th anniversary. Metallic Rouge focuses on a world where humans and artificial intelligent, known as “Neans,” coexist, causing Rouge Redstar and partner Naomi Orthmann to set out to kill the nine advanced Neans known as the “Immortal Nine,” who are deemed most dangerous to the government.
Crunchyroll is currently home to over 30 Studio BONES animes including, but not limited to SK8 the Inifity, Eureka Seven, The Case Studies of Vanitas and their most recent series Metallic Rouge, with more animes set to come to the platform soon.
