An Exclusive Interview With Eren Yeager Is Coming Soon

Eren Yeager, the main character of Attack on Titan, will be interviewed by NHK as part of an exclusive special for Professional Work Style. This will go down in the program’s history as the first time an anime main character gets interviewed. The special will be broadcast on October 23rd at 11:45 PM JST.

Who is Eren Yeager?

Eren Yeager is one of the most complex and controversial characters in Attack On Titan. He is so complicated that he got nominated for Best Protagonist and Best Antagonist at the 6th Annual Crunchyroll Awards.

Hard-headed, tenacious, passionate, and impulsive are the best words to describe Eren. He would go to great lengths, even if it meant endangering himself, to keep people he cares about safe. Eren is known for letting his emotions get the better of him and his stubbornness. He believes people who don’t fight for a better life are nothing but content livestock. He hates living inside the walls and won’t rest until the world is free of titans.

Without spoiling the story, originally a manga series by Hajime Isayama, Attack On Titan is an action-adventure shounen anime TV series. Attack On Titan follows Eren’s story as he navigates a world where humanity is forced to live within walls to protect themselves from Titans. After Titans destroy his home, Eren sets out to join the Survey Corps, an elite group of soldiers who risk their lives to fight against Titans. This series is full of twists and turns as Eren and his best friends, Armin and Mikasa, start to uncover the truth about the world they live in. Attack On Titan currently streams on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu.

Exclusive Interview

During the interview, fans can expect to hear how Eren defines his work style as a soldier of the Survey Corps, what drives him to keep fighting, and what the word “professional” means to him. This interview will be released a week before the highly anticipated Attack On Titan hour-long finale special on November 4th in Japan.

Here’s a look at the official trailer for the final season (Contains spoilers):

With the rising popularity of podcasts, we may be witnessing the beginning of a new era in which companies use interview-style content to promote their shows. For instance, without revealing too much, Eren’s opinions and actions have caused most fans to feel divided. Viewers may gain more insight into his perspective from this conversation, and their perceptions of some of his behaviors may even alter. It’s still unclear just how in-depth this interview will go.

What is clear is how this opens the door to several possibilities in the future, including allowing fans to submit questions to ask characters, a chance for brand partnerships, and even the ability for characters to engage in mainstream media trends. Companies can strengthen their relationships with their audiences, expand on their storylines, and go further into the character backgrounds through the use of interview-style content.
