Get Fired Up! Pokémon Go: Charmander Community Day Classic

Today marks another day for Pokémon Go players to venture out into the wild and join fellow trainers for another Pokémon Go Community Day Classic. This month’s event features the beloved lizard Pokémon, Charmander.

Pokémon Go: Charmander Community Day

Charmander Community Day begins Saturday, September 2. Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. local time, trainers around the world will be on the lookout for the chance to catch a shiny Charmander!

As always, players have up to 5 hours after the event to evolve Charmander into one of their final evolutions, Charizard. If evolved in time, the Pokémon can learn the fast attack “Dragon Breath”  or charged attack “Blast Burn” when trainers evolve from Charmeleon (Charmander’s second form).

Wondering what other community perks await? We have compiled a list of special features to look out for during the event:

  • 3-hour durations for incense and lures.
  • 3x the stardust for catching Pokémon
  • Increased chance of photobombs during Community Day!

There is a Community Day Classic-themed Field Research that will be available to players to earn rewards such as additional encounters with Charmander, Great Balls, Stardust, Charizard Mega Energy, and more! These rewards will only be available between 2 pm to 5 pm local time during the event.

If players are fired up and craving more during the Charmander Community Day Classic, then they can purchase the special Charmander Community Day Classic exclusive Special Research in the shop. This task will become available for $1 USD as Pokémon Go Charmander Community Day Classic approaches. Also, if players feel generous, then they can gift the research task to friends who have obtained friendship levels of “great friends” or higher.

Don’t forget to be on the lookout for Pokémon Go’s latest feature: Showcases. During the Pokémon Go Charmander Community Day Classic, PokéStops will allow your Pokémon to strut their stuff and compete against fellow trainers Pokémon. Remember that only a limited amount of Pokémon can compete during this time, and there will be a unique icon above the PokéStop for you to enter.
