About Heaven Official's Blessing
The Heavenly Palace has trembled once again, as a new heavenly official has ascended to the palace…or so they thought. Xie Lian, the Crown Prince who has now ascended for a third time has returned. His ascension was so powerful, he ended up destroying a piece of the Golden Palace and accumulating a large debt. Xie Lian is lacking in followers, funds and even his own shrine. Determined to pay back the heavenly official, he is sent down to the Mortal Realm to exorcise evil spirits and ghosts, and hopefully regain followers and worshippers to his name.
Xie Lian is accompanied by two junior officials, Nan Feng and Fu Yao, who assist the Crown Prince in his investigation. During his adventures in the Mortal Realm, Xie Lian encounters a mysterious man who goes by the name of San Lang and appears in the journey. It isn’t long before it’s revealed Xie Lian’s new companion is none other than the king of the Ghost City and one of the Four Ghost Calamities: Crimson Red Sought Flower, Hua Cheng.
Heaven Official’s Blessing is a light novel donghua series written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, with a total of eight books in the series, and six officially released in English. The series has also been adapted into an ongoing manhua with 49 chapters which can be read on the Bilibili website. The anime was first released October 31st in 2020. The first trailer of season two was released from the Bilibili channel on November 23, 2021.
Season Two
A new official art was also released in honor of the Heaven Official’s Blessing season two confirmation. On August 22, 2023, a new preview for season two was released along with a confirmation of an October 2023 release date. The series is available to stream in the original Chinese, as well as English, Korean, and Japanese on Netflix, Crunchyroll, and the official Bilibili website.
