A new enemy targets the Sailor Guardians, ending the peace they had won and now, Sailor Moon must fight for love and justice one last time.
The trailer was revealed on Sunday during the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos the Movie panel at JapanAnime 2023. The two-part anime film will adapt the final “Shadow Galactica” arc of the original Sailor Moon manga, created by Naoko Takeuchi. Part one will premiere in Japan on June 9, and part two will release on June 30. An international release date has not been announced.
In this concluding arc of the anime, Sailor Moon must go up against Sailor Galaxia – the final villain of the story. This showdown between good and evil will be her toughest one yet. Sailor Galaxia is the strongest Sailor Scout, but her pursuit of power led her down a path of evil and destruction. The two now meet in the film for one last battle, and it’s sure to be both emotional and unlike any Sailor Moon fight we have seen.
Also revealed were voice actors for the Sailor Starlights; Saori Hayami will voice Taiki Kō/Sailor Star Maker, Marina Inoue will voice Seiya Kō/Sailor Star Fighter, and Ayane Sakura will voice Yaten Kō. Other voice actors include Nana Mizuki, who will voice Princess Kakyū, and Megumi Hayashibara, who will voice Sailor Galaxia. Kotono Mitsuishi, the voice actress for Sailor Moon, will be voicing Chibi Chibi, reprising her role as Chibi Chibi from the previous anime.
