I recently had the chance to attend one of the shows for the My Hero Academia Live in Concert world tour, and it was truly an amazing experience! From action-packed musical moments to emotional songs that pulled at the heartstrings, the whole event was truly magical from start to finish.
It was so much fun to see fans get hyped up for the concert before it even began, while the venue played all the openings of the series as people were buying their merch, getting their drinks, and taking their seats.
The Main Event
The concert then began, and the first half was dedicated to music from My Hero Academia;s seasons 1 through 4. I couldn’t help but reminisce about moments from early in the show and see how the characters evolved from their early appearances. The audience, me included, got extremely excited hearing You Say Run live and whenever Katsuki Bakugo appeared on the screen over the course of the show. But the highlight of the first act of my experience was when they played the music for the All Might and All For One fight from Season 3 and when they played Might+U from the final fight between Izuku Midoriya and Overhaul in Season 4.
The second half of the concert was just as mind-blowing as the first. Focusing on My Hero Academia’s seasons 5 through 8, the music and the associated moments completely ramped up. From watching Class 1-A training against 1-B to all of the events in the final war, the music accompanied the scenes perfectly. My favorite songs from this half were Revengers, The Lovely Assassin, and the encore performance of Hero Too. Seeing and hearing everyone sing Hero Too along with the performance was a sight to see and truly a once-in-a-lifetime event to witness.
Overall Thoughts on My Hero Academia: Live in Concert
Overall, this concert helped me realize how formative the music is in the franchise and how they help the scenes impact the audience even harder. From the people in cosplay to the actual main event, it is something I wouldn’t have traded this experience for in the slightest. It was just an absolute blast, and I hope that, despite the series being over, it is something that can happen again in the future.
