Back in March of 2024, Rooster Teeth had to shut down and look for a new home for the ownership rights of RWBY. A few months later, Viz Media acquired the ownership of the series and Kerry Shawcross, series showrunner, writer and voice of Neptune, has offered some small updates where he could.

The last update came from Anime Expo 2025, where he confirmed Volume 10 was in deep pre-production, but no word on whether the volume had been greenlit or not. But thanks to a fun clip starring Lindsay Jones (Ruby Rose), Kara Eberle (Weiss Schnee), Arryn Zech (Blake Belladonna) and Barbara Dunkleman (Yang Xiao Long), we got the official confirmation that Viz Media has given the green light.

While it’ll still be a little while before we see anything in terms of a trailer or art for the volume, knowing that the show will continue was a huge relief to fans. Kerry Shawcross, Miles Luna, Eddy Rivas and Kiersi Burkhart are all returning to write for the series, and Jones, Eberle, Zech and Dunkleman are all expected to return to voice the four members of Team RWBY.

Volume 10 will kick off the Vacuo Arc of the show, following Team RWBY’s and Jaune’s return from their dramatic confrontation with Neo and the Curious Cat in the Ever After. But now they’re back on Remnant with a renewed resolve to stop Salem, Cinder and their forces. And thanks to an animatic for a scrapped episode of Volume 9, we have an idea of who will be joining Team RWBY for this arc.

The animatic, which has been confirmed to still be adapted for the Volume 10 premiere, albeit with some changes, featured Nora Valkyrie, Lie Ren, Winter Schnee and Qrow Branwen as they each dealt with the aftermath of the fall of Atlas. There were also cameos from Team CVFY, who haven’t been seen in the main series since Volume 3, and Team SSSN, whose leader, Sun Wukong, hasn’t played a huge role since Volume 5. But they are all left downtrodden after Team RWBY’s and Jaune’s apparent deaths at the end of Volume 8. But now that they are back, their spirits could be at an all-time high.

For anyone who wants to rewatch the series and experience RWBY for the first time, you can stream the whole series on Hulu!
