The journey through the Hole continues as the release date for Dorohedoro Season 2 is finally announced! Animated by the team at MAPPA, Kaiman and Nikaido return on April 1, 2026, as the pair struggles to cure Kaiman’s amnesia and find out who or what exactly turned his head into a lizard.
After a 4 year silence, it was announced in January 2024 that a second season of Dorohedoro would be in development. Despite the six-year-long wait, it seems as though the team at MAPPA has been working diligently and intently to give Dorohedoro a second season that will be sure to blow the fans away. With the gritty world that Q Hayashida has created and the battle between sorcerers and the people of the Hole ramping up, the second season is sure to deliver.
More about Dorohedoro
Based on Q Hayashida’s best-selling dark fantasy manga, the story revolves around the main character, turned lizard Kaiman, and his best friend Nikaido. Together, the duo navigate the strange and apocalyptic world and find themselves in the midst of a battle between sorcerers and the people who call the Hole their homes. Despite there being no details on whether the English and Japanese cast will reprise their roles for the characters, Yuichiro Hayashi, known for his work on directing Attack on Titan, returns to direct the second season of Dorohedoro. Additionally, Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen) returns as the series writer, and R.O.N. of (K)NoW_NAME lends their musical talents just like the first season. The first season of Dorohedoro premiered internationally in May 2020 on Netflix with 13 episodes, gaining a niche but eager fanbase.
While April 1st seems like such a long wait for what is sure to be a jam-packed season, the first season of Dorohedoro can be streamed on Netflix. All volumes of Dorohedoro can be bought on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
