It’s time to banish some curses! MAPPA has officially revealed that Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is set to premiere in January 2026! Alongside the release date, a new trailer for the season dropped. A theatrical event was announced with the first two episodes premiering on the big screen at the end of the year!
About Season 3
The season will follow Yuji and his allies as they deal with the aftermath of their devastating loss in Shibuya, including Nanami’s death, Nobara’s unknown fate, and Gojo’s imprisonment. Now wanted by the Jujutsu Sorcery higher-ups, Yuji must figure out his next course of action while being hunted by a more experienced Yuta Okkotsu for execution. Enemy-turned-ally Choso will also do battle with Naoya Zen’in, and Maki will have a battle of her own, following her injuries sustained during the Shibuya Incident. The trailer reveals that the season will be split into two parts, with the first half covering the start of the Culling Games arc.
Theatrical Event
MAPPA announced that to celebrate the release of the upcoming third season, the first two episodes will be compiled as a movie for a limited release. The event will occur in Japan starting in November, while a worldwide release is planned for December 5th. For fans of the series, this will be the ultimate way to see how the next chapter of Yuji Itadori’s story unfolds.
What is Jujutsu Kaisen?
For those unfamiliar, Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori as he is thrust into the world of jujutsu sorcery after eating a cursed object. Now sharing his body with Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, Yuji learns how to channel his cursed energy under Satoru Gojo’s tutelage while also being sentenced to execution. However, evil curse users and curses threaten to disrupt the peace and protection provided by the sorcerers in Japan, with Yuji at the center of it all.
