KPop Demon Hunters Win at the 2026 Golden Globes

KPop Demon Hunters has taken the world by storm since its June 2025 release. From flashy visuals and addictive songs that have no doubt gone platinum in a few households, the Netflix movie has completely captivated both audiences and critics alike. So much so that KPop Demon Hunters received the 2026 Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Animated and Best Original Song for Golden

Written by Kim Eun-jae (professionally named EJAE), the 34-year-old singer-songwriter accepted the Golden Globe for Best Original Song with American songwriter Mark Sonnenblick and Lee Hee-joon. In a teary-eyed acceptance speech, EJAE described her journey as something she “worked tirelessly for 10 years as a little girl.”

“I was rejected and disappointed that my voice wasn’t good enough. So I leaned on songs and music to get through it, and now I am here as a singer and a songwriter…”

EJAE also describes the moment as “a dream come true,” citing her overwhelming appreciation to be part of a song like ‘Golden.’

“...To be part of a song that is helping other girls, other boys, and everyone of all ages to get through their hardships and accept themselves.”

The tune is also nominated for Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 2026 Grammys, as well as the nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

KPop Demon Hunters could also potentially earn an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature. The Oscars recently announced that the film, along with 34 other animated films, was eligible for an Academy Award nomination. The official list of nominees comes out on January 16th.
