TRIGUN STARGAZE sets official January premiere, plus more announcements

Vash the Stampede finally makes his return, as Crunchyroll announces TRIGUN STARGAZE will premiere on January 10, 2026. The announcement came alongside the latest trailer for the series.

The beloved studio, Studio Orange (Beastars, Godzilla Singular Point), takes on TRIGUN STARGAZE’s production. Seeing as it produced the previous Trigun project, TRIGUN STAMPEDE in 2023, we’re excited to see what the studio produces this time around.

Masako Satō joins the Trigun team as director, replacing TRIGUN STAMPEDE director Kenji Mutō. Working alongside Satō includes character designs by Kōji Tajima, composition by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and anime adaptation by Kiyotaka Oshiyama.

Additionally, the opening and ending themes were also announced. Ano performs the opening theme ‘Picsareque Hero’ while FOMARE performs the ending theme ‘Stardust.’ Both artists have previously worked on other anime opening projects, including the Ranma 1/2 reboot and Golden Kamuy, making them veterans in the anime-opening genre.

TRIGUN STARGAZE will continue the storyline from the 2023 series TRIGUN STAMPEDE. The series will take place two and a half years after the events of the Lost JuLai tragedy. Beloved character Vash now lives in a remote town, using the name Eriks as a disguise. However, Vash’s peace is ruined when he gets dragged back into the action all over again.

Manga artist Yasuhiro Nightow created Trigun, which was serialized from 1995 to 1997 and collected into three volumes. Following that, Nightow continued the story under the new title Trigun Maximum from 1997 to 2007, gathering it into 14 volumes.

Trigun is also no stranger to anime adaptations. In 1998, Studio Madhouse (Death Note, Hunter x Hunter) produced the Trigun anime, a 26-episode series. In 2010, Trigun received its own anime film, Trigun: Badlands Rumble, from Studio Madhouse. Finally, Studio Orange took on the series with TRIGUN STAMPEDE and the up-and-coming TRIGUN STARGAZE.

Until TRIGUN STARGAZE’s January 10 release date, fans can watch both TRIGUN STAMPEDE and Trigun on Crunchyroll.
