The Finale of a Fan-Created Saga

Los Angeles, CA — November 2025 — Created, written, and starring Colin Bass and directed by Chelton Perry, this passion project has emerged with an original take on a beloved franchise, captivating fans with a new chapter for Dragon Ball’s future. The storytelling and heartfelt tribute are a nod to the eternal and everlasting Dragon Ball legacy of Akira Toriyama. 

Fans can spot familiar actors Wes Collins, the Red Time Force Ranger in Power Rangers Time Force, Brennan Mejia (Uub), the Red Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Charge, and DJ Rivers and Colin Bass, who play the Red Fusion Space Ranger and Omega Ranger in Power Rangers: Extended Universe, transform anew. Another familiar face is Campbell Cooley, who is known for his extensive work on the Power Rangers franchise, voicing numerous villains such as Ripcon in Power Rangers: Ninja Steel. An ensemble cast includes Nico Abiera and Marisol Gonzales.

Son of Trunks

With the tone of Dragon Ball and the charm of Power Rangers, the long-awaited passion project of Colin Bass premieres its series finale, a conclusion to the Dragon Ball: Son of Trunks live-action fan series. “Episode 3 – Vehan Rises” delivers an explosive and emotional finale to the story of Vehan. 

 

We witness Vehan’s growth reach its pinnacle. The half-Saiyan/half-Angel son of Trunks faces his destiny to save the fractured future Earth from the hands of Super 17 and all other androids. As the Android Army continues to threaten humanity’s last stand, Vehan and the New Z Fighters must rise against the destruction of Earth and the demise of humanity. Vehan must reach beyond his limits to honor not only his father’s legacy, but also to embrace his hidden celestial power within. 

Vehan Rises

While the battle rages between androids and humanity. We see Super 17 and Vehan clash in an emotional battle with fast-paced, high-energy attacks. The fight between two rivals engages a repeated series of punches, strikes of spirit slashes, bursts of energy, and Celestial Kamehamehas. You can feel the rage of opposition. The energy of the entire series is full of explosive combat between ki blasts, strikes, and true tests of heart. The storm of dynamic exchanges of action concludes the final fight with hope. 

Vehan’s final transformation taps into his unleashed power as he is forced to rise above. Vehan, like Goku, balances between life, death, and something more. The confrontation in Vehan’s celestial blood and Saiyan lineage evolves when Vehan is transported to another dimension, as he sees his father again. Poetic justice prevails as Trunks once again guides Vehan to be his true self. Vehan must understand what defines him. Vehan must ascend.

A Homage

This epic finale delivers a homage to the Dragon Ball saga. Due to Dragon Ball: Son of Trunks live-action being an original passion project, not derived from Toei Animation or Akira Toriyama’s protege Toyotarou, it may cause immediate fan dismissal. However, if one views Bass’s project from the perspective of a fan who wishes to see the continuation of Dragon Ball’s Story, one can appreciate it as a heartfelt dedication of sentimental work.
