Politics and Party Planning
A decision has been reached by both the Japanese government and the Simurian council. They will strive for coexistence. Even as the Okkotsu siblings join in planning a cultural exchange, individuals on both sides voice their dissent.

The chapter begins with two scenes back-to-back, showing both sides of the political situation. The Japanese government holds fast to its regulations and cautious approach. The Simurian council takes a vote and decides to move forward with efforts in coexistence. Neither decision is unanimous and both sides seem to have hidden trump cards to play should things get messy.
Afterwards, Yuka and Tsurugi are tasked with organizing and preparing a dinner party for a cultural exchange. They team up with Maru and Cross to discuss potential dishes. They finally land on a takoyaki party, or “takopa” in Yuka’s own words. The image of Cross’s superiors flipping takoyaki greatly unsettles him.
A Bit of Column A, A Bit of Column B
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo never ceases to impress me. In just 19 pages, we get a glimpse into the Japanese government’s stance, the Simurian’s stance and some light-hearted shenanigans. The dialogue is still quite drawn out, but it was balanced much better with discoveries and clashing personalities. Giving the dissenters on both sides their own characters, rather than having others just talk about them, went a long way in making the conversations feel alive.
Then, at the end of the chapter, we get a nice casual setup for next week’s chapter. I must express how much of a fan I’ve become of Iwasaki’s (artist) style. They’ve demonstrated time and again an impressive ability to switch between fully realized character designs and simplified chibi designs. It’s a perfect compliment to the extreme emotions found in the shonen genre. Their character expressions are also consistently on point. You could strip the dialogue from most scenes and still follow the general story just through Iwasaki’s art alone. That is an impressive feat.
