The action-packed, beloved sports shonen Blue Lock just announced that they are back for a third season of the anime. During the Blue Lock Egoist Festa 2025 in Tokyo, fans got official confirmation that season three is underway and will be animating the Neo Egoist League arc that is wildly popular with manga readers.

Not only is it exciting news for fans to hear that the show is continuing, but this season, in particular, is highly anticipated by fans of the manga. The Neo Egoist League is a part of the manga that really will captivate audiences with all their favorite characters heading overseas to play solo, away from their fellow Blue Lock rivals. The Plot of Blue Lock So Far

With high pressure from the Japanese government to win a World Cup, the Blue Lock project is a battle royale-style competition for the best soccer players to compete against 300 other contestants to become the ultimate striker and win a position on Japan’s soccer team.

Not only did fans get news of a third season, but there was also an announcement for a live-action film adaptation.
The live-action film is allegedly set to release before the third season, as it is speculated that season three will air right around the real-life 2026 FIFA World Cup.
