You’re getting very sleepy, Proxy. Version 2.3 of the urban fantasy ARPG Zenless Zone Zero launches on October 15! The new version, “Memories of Dreams Bygone,” features additions to the Spook Shack faction along with returning favorites. A new area, new gameplay, and all-new events will keep players going, even through ruthless nightmares. Don’t sleep too soundly now, lest you never wake again.
Previously, the Proxies teamed up with Obol Squad and uncovered a deep conspiracy. Betrayal, vengeance, and long-held grudges came to a climactic clash inside the Hollow. As the Miasma dissipates, forgotten facilities surrounded by superstition come to light. Rumors of disappearing miners and hypnotic trances fly free on wings of fear. Who better to investigate than the legends of the Spook Shack forums? Dive into the mystery in the new main story chapter “Memories of Dreams Bygone.”
Say Hello to My Little Friend
Lucia dreams big as the newest S-Rank Ether Support Agent. Her fascination and expertise on all things Ethereal allow her to summon dreamlike facsimiles during battle. As she fights, she’ll enter her “Dream State”, which empowers her special attacks. She’ll also trigger special buffs for the whole squad, like extra HP and Sheer Damage.
With her Ultimate, she summons a charging Ethereal that damages a large area on impact and leaves behind a healing circle. Players can learn more about Lucia in her agent story “The Inverted Night Lantern.” Lucia will be available to recruit during the Signal Search Event Phase 1, along with a rerun of Vivian.
Lullaby from the Depths
Whether awake or asleep, the newest S-Rank Ice Rupture Agent, Yidhari, can’t resist a good story. She disappears for long lengths of time in the Hollow, finding inspiration for her spine-chilling stories. Yidhari is a high-risk-high-reward combatant, consuming her own HP to unleash devastating strikes.
With Sheer Damage that scales with max HP and a charge attack with built-in counters, she breaks through even the toughest defenses. Players can learn more about Yidhari’s past in the version-exclusive event “When Dreams Remain Unfinished.” Yidhari will be available to recruit during the Signal Search Event Phase 2, along with a rerun of Ju Fufu.
Familiar Faces
In addition, Kamano Manato joins the roster as the newest A-Rank Fire Rupture Agent. Players previously met the gruff wolf Thiren in version 2.1. During combat, he enhances his basic and special attacks with additional Fire and Sheer Damage. He also comes with his own alternate outfit, “White Heart Silhouette,” which can be claimed by completing Main Story missions. Vivian will also receive a swimsuit outfit, which can be claimed after spending 180 Encrypted Master Tapes. Soldier 0-Anby returns with improved combat mechanics and optimized gameplay.
Version-Exclusive Events
Dive into Yidhari’s dreamscape in the event “When Dreams Remain Unfinished.” Help her uncover and confront past traumas with turn-based combat where you control various Ethereals. Or tackle Fairy’s new “Threshold Simulation: Branching Echoes.” Construct and deploy several squads in simulations to combat the unpredictable companion Hollows. Stretch those photography muscles in “SNAP! Shining Strike.” The popular battle photography event is back with new filters, a new frame feature, and full control over the freeze-frame camera.
Ridu Renovation Talk
The limit for preset squad configs has been increased from 10 to 20, so players can always be prepared. The Drive Disc filtering system has been updated to make finding recommended Drive Discs easier. This version will also introduce recommended sub-stats. The Special Training Plan interface has been improved with easy-to-understand progress bars and better menu navigation for required materials. In-game time progression has also received some changes. Time will advance by one interval the first time a player logs on in Free Mode. This will help trigger more trust events and daily encounters.
