It’s time to get back into action! Bones Film has recently announced that Season 2 of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will premiere in January of 2026. Alongside the release window, a new piece of key art featuring Koichi, Pop☆Step and Knuckleduster was revealed!
What is Season 2 About?
Season 2 of the series is expected to pick up where season 1 left off. Koichi is learning not to rely so much on Knuckleduster to be a great vigilante. Knuckleduster is focused on making sure his daughter is recovering after her freedom from Kuin Hachisuka’s control. Pop☆Step is focused on her growing popularity as an idol while also helping out as a vigilante. But they remain unaware that, despite their victory over Kuin, there is still a bigger threat pulling the strings. Season 2 is expected to delve deeper into exactly who or what this larger threat is.
What Else We Know
Bones Film, a part of Studio Bones, will be at the helm of production once again. There is no word on who will be in charge of directing or writing. The cast is expected to return for the new season, which includes:
- Shuichiro Umeda (Akira, Zom 100) as Koichi Haimawari
- Ikumi Hasegawa (Ubel, Frieren) as Kazuho Haneyama/Pop☆Step
- Yasuhiro Mamiya (Magma, Dr. Stone) as Iwao Oguro/Knuckleduster
- Kohsuke Toriumi (Gyokko, Demon Slayer) as Soga Kugisaki
- Taku Yashiro (Vulcan, Fire Force) as Number 6
Similar to last season, there will be appearances from main series characters, including Shota Aizawa, Present Mic and Stain.
What is Vigilantes About?
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a spin-off of My Hero Academia set a few years before the main series. It follows Koichi Haimawari, a vigilante known as The Crawler. After failing to get into a hero course and ending up with a basic life, his vigilantism catches the attention of Knuckleduster, who forcibly makes Koichi his pupil. They are soon joined by Pop☆Step, who uses her quirk to put on street performances as an idol and acts as their intel gatherer. Together, they work to figure out the cause of the outbreak of instant villains across the city while avoiding being caught by Pro Heroes and police officers in the process.
