Netflix Drops New One Piece Season 2 Info

It’s almost time to set sail once more! Netflix has released new looks at the upcoming second season of One Piece. They revealed a new teaser trailer, looks at upcoming characters, and even a third season!

On August 9th, Netflix took to their social media to deliver some long-awaited news. Their hit live-action adaptation of One Piece is set to premiere in 2026. They also revealed some first looks at some of the upcoming characters. They revealed Miss Wednesday, who will be portrayed by Charithra Chandran (Anni, Star Wars: Visions), Nico Robin, played by Lera Abova (Thea, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin). Callum Kerr, (Galad Trakand, The Wheel of Time), will play the character, Smoker. Previously revealed at Netflix’s TUDUM event, Mikaela Hoover joins the Straw Hats as Tony Tony Chopper. Much like the first season, Eiichiro Oda, creator of One Piece, had a heavy hand in the casting process for this season.

The main cast from the previous season are all expected to return as well. The cast includes:

  • Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy
  • Emily Rudd as Nami
  • Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro
  • Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp
  • Taz Skylar as Sanji

The teaser ended with the major announcement that a third season has been greenlit by Netflix. Production for season 3 is slated to begin at the end of this year.

About One Piece

For those not familiar with the One Piece franchise, it follows a group of pirates led by protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy. He forms a small, ragtag crew to become the king of the pirates and find a hidden treasure called the One Piece. As his crew sets sail, they come across allies, such as Tony Tony Chopper and Nico Robin. They also make some enemies during their travels, including Buggy the Clown and Arlong. But along the way, they persevere over their hurdles and find out what it means to be a true pirate.
