With the latest update to the hit video game Genshin Impact set to release on July 30th, HoYoverse has revealed all the details about version 5.8, entitled “Sunspray Summer Resort.” In addition to the Version 5.8 update, Genshin Impact also revealed a teaser trailer of Nod-Krai, the next region players will visit during their travels.
Version 5.8 Update
“Sunspray Summer Resort” will introduce a new and permanent area in Natlan called Easybreeze Holiday Resort, an island west of Natlan. At the Easybreeze Holiday Resort, players will be able to harness the mascot Asha’s powers to assist in exploration.
More importantly, Version 5.8 introduces a new playable character, Ineffa, on the Phase I nammer. Ineffa is the first character from the next region, Nod-Krai. The Electro-polearm 5-star Ineffa will also introduce fans to the new Lunar-Charged reaction. Players can wish for Citali on the Phase I banner. The Phase II banner will feature Natlan characters Mualani and Chasca.
Additionally, Version 5.8 features a new archon quest, “Song of the Welkin Moon: Prelude – The Journey Home,” which focuses on Ineffa’s origins. Version 5.8 will also offer two new outfits for Yelan and Bennett. Yelan’s outfit will be available for purchase in the shop, while Bennett’s will be a reward for a special event in 5.8. Finally, Version 5.8 will introduce a new boss, Bakunawa, who awaits challengers in Mare Jivari.Â
Nod-Krai Teaser: Everything We Know
Highlighted in the new trailer “Song of the Welkin Moon Teaser: Ballad of the Night,” Hoyoverse introduced fans to multiple new characters, including ones from previous stories. Although it’s an autonomous region, Nod-Krai occupies the southern-most area of Snezhnaya, the final region the traveler will visit. Travelers will visit Nod-Krai in Version 6.0.
Two Fatui harbingers will appear in Nod-Krai: Columbina, ranked third, and Sandrone, ranked seventh. Columbina will hold a similar status to archons of other nations as the “Mirror Maiden” of Nod-Krai.
Additionally, the trailer introduced two members of the Hexenzirkel, Alice, codenamed “A,” and Nicole Reeyn, codenamed “N.” Durin, created by Hexenzirkel member “M,” also appeared in the trailer. Genshin Impact players recognize the name Alice; she’s the mother of Klee and aunt of Albedo.
Alice isn’t the only familiar name that appeared in the Nod Krai trailer. The Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, Varka, finally made his Genshin Impact appearance in the teaser trailer. The Nod-Krai trailer also introduced several new characters, including Lauma, Nefer, Aino, Jahoda, and Flins, for whom no information is currently available.
With only a couple of days left until Version 5.8, players should start saving their primogems to pull any of the specialty characters from the banners. Better start saving those primogems for Nod-Krai, too.
