Prepare to dive into the mysterious and whimsical world of Wonderland! The new trailer for the upcoming film, Dive in Wonderland, has been released. It offers a peek into what lies beyond the rabbit hole.
For those unfamiliar with Lewis Carroll’s classic tale, it follows a young girl named Alice as she stumbles into a fantastical realm called Wonderland. She travels throughout the land to find a way home and along the way, she meets a colorful cast of characters. The film takes this tale and puts a spin on it.
In contrast to the source material, the film follows an original character named Rise, where Alice plays more of a supporting role. In a memory delightful to any child, we see a young Rise Azumino with her loving grandmother. Next, we see her as an adult, thrust suddenly into the nonsensical Wonderland.

The official synopsis of the film is as follows:
“‘I’m trying to read the situation so I don’t make mistakes. I’m doing the same thing as everyone else, so why isn’t (it) going well?’ One day, Rise Azumino, a college student who is lost in life, is led by an invitation left behind by her late grandmother and enters ‘Wonderland’. There, she meets a girl named Alice and they decide to travel together. One after another, the strange inhabitants of Wonderland appear before Rise. And then, chaotic mayhem ensues!? What future will Rise choose on this incredibly strange adventure with Alice?”
The movie is directed by Toshiya Shinohara. The cast of the film includes several renowned voice actors:
- Nanoka Hara (Suzume Iwato, Suzume) as Rise
- Maika Pugh as Alice
- Mayu Matsuoka (Young Shoya, A Silent Voice) as the Queen of Hearts
- Toshiyuki Morikawa (Julius, Black Clover) as The Cheshire Cat
- Kappei Yamaguchi (Kechizu, Jujutsu Kaisen) as The White Rabbit
Dive in Wonderland is directed by Toshiya Shinohara. Yuko Kakihara is the writer for the film, with Lewis Carroll receiving a writer credit as Alice in Wonderland’s author. Kousuke Kawatsura and Mio Fujishima are the character designers.
The film’s theme song will be performed by Sekai No Owari.
Dive in Wonderland is expected to be released in Japan on August 29, 2025. No international release date has been given as of yet.
