The animation company GKIDS films officially received JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie. This is a compilation film of the anime’s beginning arc of season 2. GKIDS announced the film will be in theaters across North America on July 16. Fans can watch JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie in theaters in both subtitled and English-dubbed formats.
Release of JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie
The film will be released in Japanese theaters on May 30. JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death’s theme song will be an acoustic version of the season 2 opening theme “Ao no Sumika” with the artist, Tatsuya Kitani, performing it.
Also, GKIDS posted a trailer for JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie on their official YouTube account. They announced the film’s North American release date. The movie’s poster was later announced on X.
The “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” arc in season 2 focuses on Satoru Gojō and Suguru Getō’s high school lives as friends, before the events of the main Jujutsu Kaisen storyline, focusing on Yūji Itadori. Season 2 then focused on the “Shibuya Incident” arc.
JUJUSTU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death was announced in December 2024 at Jump Festa 2025. At the time, numerous speculations about a new Jujutsu Kaisen movie were floating around, before the compilation film was confirmed at the convention’s JJK cast panel.
Where to Watch the Series
The anime’s third season, focusing on the “Culling Games” arc, is in the works. It is set to be released in late 2025 or early 2026. However, due to the animation studio MAPPA’s busy year, with projects like Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and Lazarus, the third season seems to have been pushed back.
Until JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie’s theatrical release on July 16, fans can watch both seasons of the hit series and the first film, JUJUTSU KAISEN 0, on Crunchyroll.
