It’s time for the climactic finish to the battle in the sands! New powers, new forms, and the unbreakable bonds of our heroes pave the path to victory. Not all is well, however, as malicious forces push Togo to the edge and force him to access a forbidden power.

Maximum Bond Power!
The tokusatsu genre loves busting out new powers and forms. It’s a great way to hype up the action and provides great marketing for tie-in toy lines. In the end, Raniya reunites with Azir.
Team Togo, now piloting Maximum Kizuna Kaiser, struggles to subdue Azir’s sandstorm. Yihdra suggests using Bond power, channeled through Raniya’s bond with Azir, to reconstitute his physical body; thus, robbing the sandstorm of its will. This makes perfect sense, if you don’t think too hard.
Maximizing her own bond with Togo, Yihdra unlocks two new powers, “Hopeful Kizuna Scepter” and “Golden Kizuna Kaiser.”
Back in the Sun Forest, Azir comes to his senses and patches up relations with the elves. Suddenly, Vidan, Azir’s butler, attacks with a lightning storm. He reveals he is none other than one of the demon queen’s Royal Demons.
The situation goes from bad to worse when Abudabi appears, and the two begin their assault. I had a nice chuckle when Abudabi exploited the weakness of every tokusatsu hero– just attack before they transform.
Even with Raniya’s power, Yihdra’s magic, and Lowji’s sword, the two Royal Demons are too much. Togo can’t bear to lose any of his friends. In an act of desperation, he transforms into the warrior of deep obsession, Kizuna Black. We saw a hint of this power in episode 5, when Togo thought Lowji would be killed. It seems like Kizuna Black takes Togo’s philosophy of preserving bonds to toxic levels of attachment.
The evil alter-ego setup is pretty good, and the design is awesome. We’ll see how much of a beast Togo becomes in the next episode.
