Voice actor and musician Griffin Burns talked about his acting and music career at SacAnime Winter 2025 during his self-moderated panel. Burns is most notably known for his work as Tokito Muichiro from Demon Slayer, Childe/Tartaglia from Genshin Impact, and Vinegar Doppio from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
Burns originally started out in music, having participated in a talent show when he was in 7th grade. His friends asked him to be the lead singer, and Burns recorded himself over and over on a tape. This helped him get accustomed to the sound of his voice and made the transition to voiceover easier. His parents were very encouraging and supportive of Burns when he wanted to become an actor.

Burns discussed the behind-the-scenes of being a voice actor, such as what roles he lands and how to get into voice acting. He talked about how voice actors have to audition continuously, and he doesn’t get to choose the characters he plays.
One fan asked how difficult it is to get into character for emotional scenes, to which Burns replied:
“Part of it is: That’s just what acting is. As you take acting classes, work on your craft and do the job enough, you’re able to tap into those emotions a little bit quicker each time,” Burns said. “At this point in my career, it’s second nature.” He advises those trying to get into voice acting to find scripts online and practice with different emotions to hone their skills.
One fun question a fan asked was, “Would Childe/Tartaglia survive Squid Game and if not, how would he die?”
Burns felt that Childe would be a loner in the game. “He would do his own thing, and he would be pretty tough to beat. I feel like he would make it pretty far but I’m not sure if he would win,” Burns said. “He’s pretty disciplined, and he’s so competitive. He loves to fight.” Burns said that the cookie game would take out Childe.
He teased the audience that he and his bandmate will be in a video game where they get to perform in an anime universe. The unnamed video game is set to come out sometime this year.
Burns wrapped up his panel, for the great questions. During SacAnime weekend, Burns also participated in the Demon Slayer panel and performed with his band, New New Girlfriend. He can be found on Instagram and TikTok @mygriffinburns.
