Three years after the initial announcement of the Disney Twisted-Wonderland anime adaptation in 2021, the official three-season anime was announced at the Walt Disney Company’s 2024 showcase in Singapore.
Disney Announces "Disney Twisted-Wonderland" Anime Date and Series Staff
The first season of the Disney Twisted-Wonderland anime, entitled “Episode of Heartslabyul,” will air on Disney+ in October 2025. “Episode of Savanaclaw” and “Episode of Octavinelle” are the titles of the second and third seasons. However, their release are not yet available.
Takahiro Natori is taking on the series as the chief director and the script supervisor. Shin Katagai will direct the series at Yumeta Company and Graphinica. Also, Yoichi Kato serves as the main writer and Haruka Nakano and Akane Sato will adapt the character designs for the anime. Black Butler creator Yana Toboso did the original character designs for Twisted-Wonderland.
New Visual Reveals Dorm Leaders Designs
Along with the Disney Twisted-Wonderland anime announcement, the first visual was revealed. It shows all of the dorm leaders from the game.
Showcased in the visual, from left to right are dorm leaders:
- Leader of Heartslabyul Dorm: Riddle Rosehearts, based on the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.
- Leader of the Savanaclaw Dorm: Leona Kingscholar based on Scar from The Lion King.
- Leader of the Octavinelle Dorm Azul: Ashengrotto, based on Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
- Leader of the Scarabia Dorm: Kalim Al-Asim, based on the Sultan from Aladdin.
- Leader of the Pomefiore Dorm: Vil Schoenhelt, based on the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
- Leader of the Ignihyde Dorm: Idia Shroud, based on Hades from Hercules.
- Leader of the Diasomnia Dorm: Malleus Draconia, based on Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
About "Disney Twisted-Wonderland"
Disney Twisted-Wonderland is a gacha game at Night Raven College, an all-boys academy, with seven dorms and seven dorm leaders representing iconic Disney characters. Players of the game are transported to the world of Twisted-Wonderland and attempt to find their way back home.
Disney fans can play Disney Twisted-Wonderland on most mobile platforms while waiting for the October 2025 anime release.
