Cheyenne worked hard to shop her show to different potential partners. However, after the trials and tribulations she has faced, the project is going independent.
The Comic Shop project will be crowdfunded on Kickstarter starting on November 12th, with the promise of many goals to achieve to people who donate. Based on the trailer and Cheyenne’s passion, it is clear that the series is a real love letter to geek and comic culture with a comedic mockumentary touch. The series itself follows the exploits of 4 friends and co-workers of Oh Em Gee Comics, delivering a lot of laughs, love for their shared passion, and a whole lot of heart.

The Kickstarter Campaign for the Innovative Comedy Series
The highly anticipated mockumentary sitcom The Comic Shop is set to launch its Kickstarter campaign on November 12th, 2024. This campaign follows its successful festival run and growing online presence. The sitcom garnered immediate attention after its proof of concept trailer went viral with 1.7 million Twitter views. It follows four misfit friends struggling to keep their beloved comic book store afloat in the digital age. Furthermore, the project has already made waves in the festival circuit, screening at prestigious venues including the Micheaux Film Festival (where it received nominations for Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Digital Series), Atlanta Film Festival (with an encore screening), and Black Girls Rock Film Festival.
The Kickstarter campaign, launching November 12th with a funding goal of $160,000, aims to produce a first season consisting of six episodes. Each episode runs up to 20 minutes. Backers can look forward to unique rewards. These include opportunities to appear in the show, product placement options, and an exclusive Q&A session with voice actor Zeno Robinson. Stretch goals will enable additional episodes, enhanced production quality, and the possibility of an original theme song.
