Capcom fans hit the jackpot, as Netflix announced an April 2025 release date for the animated adaptation of the hit video game franchise, Devil May Cry.

During Netflix Geeked Week 2023, the company announced that the Devil May Cry anime was in the works, exciting fans worldwide. However, Netflix did not disclose any other information about the animated series, until now. Moreover, fans have been eagerly anticipating updates, and this announcement has only heightened their curiosity
At Netflix Geeked Week 2024, a teaser trailer and a release date were revealed for Devil May Cry by the series producer Adi Shankar. Shankar is most known for his work on another video game anime adaptation by Netflix, Castlevania.Â
Studio Mir, known for The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender and X-Men ‘97, took on the animation. With Shankar and Studio Mir’s several successes, Devil May Cry has fallen into good hands.

Throughout the trailer, fans noticed a familiar voice taking as the main character. Dante, which Netflix confirmed their suspicions on X, was being played by Johnny Yong Bosch. Who is most known for his roles as Ichigo in Bleach, Giyu Tomioka in Demon Slayer and Sabo in One Piece, now adds Dante to his list of credits.
About Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry is a video game franchise created by Hideki Kamiya and developed and produced by Capcom. The action-adventure series focuses on Dante, a demon hunter on a mission to avenge his loved ones, by ridding Earth of the demons attempting to invade.Â
The video game series began in 2001 with five major games out now. The last major game in the series is the Devil May Cry 5, released in 2019. However, earlier this year, NebulaJoy released a mobile action game, Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat, with the help of Capcom.
The action-packed teaser trailer left us all excited for the anime. With no shortage of intense fights, demon hunting, gun-slinging and explosions, we’re definitely in for a real treat come April, 2025!
