It’s official – Crunchyroll announced that Brina Palencia and J. Michael Tatum are returning to reprise their roles as Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis in the new Black Butler – Public School Arc English dub.

The new season began airing in Japanese on April 13th. The first two episodes are available on Crunchyroll now with subtitles. The English dub premieres tomorrow, April 27th at 1pm on Crunchyroll. This season reunites viewers with the young and brilliant Ciel Phantomhive and his demon butler as they go undercover at a prestigious public school for Britain’s elite as students have begun going missing.
Palencia and Tatum have voiced the two main characters since the anime adaptation first received an English dub. The last project to come out of the ongoing manga by Yana Toboso was a film released in 2017 titled Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic. It wasn’t until Anime Expo 2023 that fans received confirmation that a brand new season covering the Public School arc of the manga was in production.
Besides the return of the English voices for Ciel and Sebastian, a few other members of the voice cast have been officially announced, including the four prefects of the school. Edgar Redmond will be voiced by Reagan Murdock (Chainsaw Man, A Sign of Affection) , Lawrence Bluewer by Brandon McInnis (My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), Herman Greenhill by Jonah Scott (Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill) and Gregory Violet by Kieran Flitton (BUCCHIGIRI?!). Other voices announced include Ciarán Strange as McMillan, Christian Taylor as Clayton, Branden Loera as Cheslock, and Andrew Webb as Agares.

For those wanting to catch up on past seasons and films of the franchise before hopping into the new season, Black Butler Season 1, Black Butler II, Black Butler Book of Circus, and the film Black Butler Book of the Atlantic are all streaming on Crunchyroll. The first episode of the English dub of the Public School Arc premieres tomorrow, with new dub episodes every Saturday.
