Over the course of its first two seasons, Link Click has continued to leave fans shocked, excited, heartbroken, or confused. There is no shortage of moments from the series that continue to evoke these emotions and feelings in its first season. These are the top 5 of the most emotional moments that left viewers absolutely emotional.

5. Yu Xia’s and Lin Zhen’s Reunion
In the second episode, Yu Xia, a business woman in the noodle industry, enlists the photo studio’s help in finding the secret ingredient in her former best friend and business partner, Lin Zhen’s noodle recipe. After multiple dives into the past, Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang learn that the secret ingredient in the recipe was a fragrant flower from their hometown crushed to become the seasoning for their noodles. Over the course of the episode, we see their friendship slowly deteriorate and watch as business changed their relationship for the worse. In the end, when Yu Xia travels back to their hometown after realizing what the ingredient was and has a warm reunion with Lin Zhen, it pulls on the heartstrings of viewers as we watch the two women make eye contact and smile warmly while Lin Zhen welcomes her friend home.
4. Doudou’s Rescue
Over the course of episodes 6 and 7, we watch as Doudou, a 7-year old boy, is taken from his parent’s tea shop two years prior. His father, along with police captain, Xiao Li, comes to the trio as a last-ditch effort to find Doudou. After denying the request at first, they eventually agree to help ease Qiao Ling’s guilt after admitting she saw the boy on the day he disappeared, but didn’t see who was with him, due to a mishap by Cheng Xiaoshi during his dive. However, during his second dive in which he possesses Doudou, Cheng Xiaoshi learns that a woman named Mei had taken him and delivers the info to Xiao Li and the police. At the end of the episode, Doudou is brought back to his parents, who rush over to embrace their son for the first time in two years. Doudou is at first apprehensive and reluctant to reciprocate, leaving fans wondering if Doudou even remembers his parents. But the apprehension soon washes away when Doudou hugs his dad back, tears of joy spilling down their faces for a heartwarming family reunion.
3. Emma’s Fate
The very first case we see play out in Link Click involves a woman named Emma. She is an assistant to the CEO of a large company. Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang dive into the past through Emma’s photo and wait patiently for the data they need to expose the CEO and complete their mission. However, throughout the mission, Cheng Xiaoshi experiences all the trials and tribulations she goes through daily. She is constantly hit on and harassed by her boss, works late hours, eats extremely unhealthy fast food, and pushes her parents away to keep them from worrying. While in bed and while Lu Guang is asleep, Cheng Xiaoshi does something that didn’t happen before. He texts Emma’s parents that she misses them. The mission then proceeds as normal. They get the data they need and get the CEO and his accomplice arrested and return to the present.
However, for Emma, she sees her apartment cleaned and a home cooked meal from her parents and calls them, learning they are still at the station. She tells them to wait for her and she tries her best to get there as fast as she can. In her rush, she is offered a ride from a stranger, which she accepts. In the present, Cheng Xiashi asks Lu Guang how Emma is, which Lu Guang reminds him to never ask how their clients are after their dives. Cheng Xiaoshi plays it off as a joke and goes to greet Qiao Ling as she arrives while Lu Guang watches a news report that reveals what happened to Emma. She is revealed to have been killed. It leaves fans shocked and upset as they watched Emma, who was severely down on her luck and appeared to be getting a happy ending is met with a sudden and unfortunate end. It is this ending that sets the tone for the rest of the series and gives an idea of what to expect in the coming episodes.
2. The Earthquake Mission and Its Aftermath
Episodes 3-5 of Link Click has Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang fulfilling the request of a man named Chen Xiao, who had heard rumors of a witch that can enter photos and wants them to go back and deliver three messages to the people who meant the most to him. His basketball captain and friend, his first love, and his mother. He doesn’t give any other info other than that and they accept the mission. Everything seems to be going smoothly until the basketball game in which Cheng Xiaoshi changes history by winning the game, instead of losing like the original timeline. However, Lu Guang says the important node in time during this mission is unchanged so no harm is done. Cheng Xiaoshi is relieved and continues with his mission, delivering the first two messages with no complications, even making a promise with his first love. He then goes to Chen Xiao’s home and starts eating dinner before being reminded that he needs to deliver the last message. He starts off saying his first love is gonna be working in the city the following year and asks his mother when he can go to the city. This starts an argument between the two, with her saying if he wants to be like his father, then he should just leave already while she begins to cry at the table. This, however, is quickly and calmly diffused when Cheng Xiaoshi delivers the final message and shares a laugh with the client’s mother.
However, Cheng Xiaoshi’s relief is dashed just as quickly as it came when he hears what the date is. May 12th, 2008. The day a major earthquake struck the area and Cheng Xiaoshi immediately rushed out of the house, ignoring Lu Guang’s orders to leave the photo. Cheng Xiaoshi then decides to warn his friend and first love of the earthquake, but it is futile as they and the rest of the passersby don’t believe what Cheng Xiaoshi is saying. Cheng Xiaoshi continues to ignore Lu Guang’s pleas and praise and begs him to let him save just one person. Lu Guang reluctantly agrees and Cheng Xiaoshi tries his best to save their client’s mother. They hide under the table as they wait for the earthquake to strike, but it happens when Cheng Xiaoshi goes to retrieve something for the mother.
It is here that hit the hardest for the fans, as we see that the mother shielded her son from the rubble that buried them both and spends her last few breaths reassuring her son and singing him a lullaby before she sadly passes away. Cheng Xiaoshi is left devastated as he is pulled from the rubble and carried away while his dad, who had rushed home, is held back from seeing his wife. The emotions only get more heated after Cheng Xiaoshi returns to the present. Still saddened by the events, Cheng Xiaoshi asks why Lu Guang lied to him. Lu Guang says they needed to protect the timeline and is swiftly punched in the face by a furious Cheng Xiaoshi. He then falls to his knees, breaking down while Lu Guang recovers from the punch and goes to comfort a crying Cheng Xiaoshi. This leads to a fracture in their friendship and them needing a break from their missions, leaving fans unsure of what will happen now that the trust between the duo is almost nonexistent at this point.
1. The Emotional Link Click Ending
After the many ups-and-downs of the whole season, we finally see the heroes take down the man responsible for a series of unsolved murders, including Emma’s. However, Cheng Xiaoshi wants to do one last thing. He wants to go back and stop Emma’s death since it was because of his actions that led her to that point. It is here we learn that Emma and Liu Min, the man behind the murders, were in a car crash after Liu Min strangled her to the point of unconsciousness and rushed to try and get her to the hospital, but was stopped after Emma woke up and crashed the car to try and escape. She then stumbles out of the wreckage and towards a bridge, planning to jump after feeling like she has nothing and no one left. It is here, however, that Cheng Xiaoshi stops her. He does his best to try and convince her to not jump, even going as far to reveal his power to her. She questions him as to why he can’t just go back and stop her from doing the things that led her to where she was now. He explains that he can’t go back and change everything and that he learns that due to his past missions, he learns that there is always a light in the darkness and that they just need to keep going forward to reach it.
It seems like fans will finally get a happy resolution to all of the heartbreak, but then the unexpected happens. Emma’s eyes glow red and before Cheng Xiaoshi can save her, she jumps from the bridge. While this occurs, Lu Guang, who is watching Cheng Xiaoshi, also deduces that Liu Min was merely a puppet for the person really behind everything and is stabbed by a now-possessed Qiao Ling, whose eyes have the same red glow. Cheng Xiaoshi then comes back to the present and looks to see a bleeding Lu Guang and Qiao Ling, much to both his shock and the fans’ shock as this is where the season ends.
