Wubba lubba dub dub, desu! Rick and Morty: The Anime Coming This Year

Rick, the grumpiest grandpa and most selfish sensei who has ever explored alien planets across the multiverse, is gracing our screens along with Morty and the rest of their family in Rick and Morty: The Anime.

During the Warner Bros. Discovery press conference, a rebrand of HBO Max into Max was revealed, along with a teaser image for Rick and Morty: The Anime!

Fans of this grandfather and grandson duo are probably familiar with the anime shorts that were released between March 2020 and November 2021. The five anime films were a hit, resulting in Adult Swim requesting Takashi Sano’s return to direct a full fledged anime series.

The spinoff series will be ten episodes long and is slated to air this year on Max (formerly known as HBO Max). Rick and Morty’s official Twitter also posted the image yesterday, confirming the series to air this year.

More information is still to be determined, but rest assured that we’ll keep you in the loop! Have you seen any of the anime shorts, and if so, which was your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!
