Pokémon Fossil Museum next stop: Denver, Colorado

The Pokémon Fossil Museum is heading to the mountains! Currently located in Chicago, Illinois, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science announced via Instagram that the exhibit is heading to Colorado:

The Pokémon Fossil Museum appeared in Chicago earlier this year and was the first time the exhibit had traveled outside Japan. It will be in Chicago until April 11, 2027, and will open in Denver on May 28, 2027.

The museum will compare prehistoric Pokémon like Tyrantrum to a cast of a real dinosaur fossil, Sue the T. Rex. Other fossil Pokémon featured in the exhibit include Aerodactyl, Omanyte, Omastar, Bastiodon, Anorith, Yanmega, Rampardos, and many more. Some Pokémon will have life-size models, while others will only have infographics breaking down their anatomy.

Trainers of all ages are encouraged to visit the museum. This exhibit is designed to teach fans about the similarities and differences between prehistoric animals in the real world versus the Pokémon world.

For those who can’t make it to Denver, fans can take a virtual tour of the museum in Japan. If you’re curious about what the Pokémon Fossil Museum experience is like, check out my experience attending the Field Museum in Chicago
