The third and final game in the Final Fantasy VII Remake Series finally has a release date. Start counting down the clock because Final Fantasy VII Revelation is coming to your favorite gaming console on April 8, 2027.
Announced at the PlayStation State of Play broadcast, Final Fantasy VII Revelation will release on PlayStation 5, the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Along with the release date, Square Enix and PlayStation revealed both a trailer and a nine-minute-long combat and exploration gameplay video. Both videos are available on the Final Fantasy YouTube Channel.
About Final Fantasy VII Revelation and the Remake Series
Square Enix describes the game as:
“The final battle to decide the fate of the world has begun. Take to the skies, chart your course, and stand with your companions against Sephiroth one last time. A vast planet awaits. Everything leads here.”
Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Final Fantasy VII Revelation remade the 1997 game Final Fantasy VII across a trilogy. Final Fantasy VII Remake was originally released in 2020 on the PlayStation 4, followed by Rebirth in 2024 and, of course, Revelation coming out next year.
Revelation is set directly after Rebirth, continuing to follow Cloud Strife and his party. In this game, players get to see the last stand against the main antagonist of Final Fantasy VII, Sephiroth.
For those unable to wait, Final Fantasy VII Revelation pre-orders launched today for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store. However, Nintendo Switch 2 players will have to wait longer for the pre-orders, with no official date yet. Final Fantasy VII Revelation pre-orders start at $69.99.
Numerous different pre-order editions are available, with a special Mecha-Chocobo and Moogle Summon Materia reward included with pre-orders. For those interested in the Final Fantasy series who have never played any of the Remake games before, a trilogy edition is available.
