Whether you live in a pineapple under the sea or set sail for the Grand Line, you’ll be sure to appreciate McDonald’s newest collaboration. That’s right, SpongeBob and One Piece are heading for the Golden Arches this September 15.
Following McDonald’s popular Hello Kitty x Godzilla collab, another Japanese franchise, One Piece, is hitting Happy Meals soon, this time teaming up with American cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants.

The following crossover toys are confirmed in McDonald’s Instagram teaser:

Depending on locations, McDonald’s may require fans to purchase a Happy Meal to obtain the toy, or purchase the toy itself. Happy Meals come with a four- or six-piece Chicken McNuggets or Hamburger, as well as a small drink, French fries and apple slices.
About the Franchises
SpongeBob SquarePants follows the titular character SpongeBob, an anthropomorphic sea sponge. The show often shows his adventures with his sea friends in Bikini Bottom, including best friend Patrick Star, neighbor and coworker Squidward Tentacles, employer Mr. Krabs, pet snail Gary, and many more. SpongeBob is the longest-running American children’s animated television show. SpongeBob can be streamed on most streaming platforms with subscriptions.
One Piece follows Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy in the live action), a rubber boy with a dream of becoming the King of the Pirates. Luffy assembles a ragtag crew known as the Straw Hat Pirates, and they sail through the Grand Line in search of the ultimate treasure known as the One Piece. One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
